What e bike for my gf?

You could start with one of these: 24 inch Kids Bikes | Girls & Boys 24 inch Bikes | Evans Cycles something like this is perfect for easy trails: and add a crank drive kit like this Bafang BBS01B with bag battery...

Has anyone heard of or tried Toseven mid drive?

I haven't noticed the PAS sensor on the controller casing before! Now you have pointed it out, it's a very clever idea! edit: BTW, I have now spotted my mistakes in post #102 and #104. I read the code for the first time on my mobile phone while sitting at the dctor's surgery this afternoon. I...

Has anyone heard of or tried Toseven mid drive?

I don't think you can. There is no connector for a cadence sensor on the TSDZ2 controller. If the torque sensor fails, you have to replace the torque sensor. It may be possible to replace a failed torque sensor with a simple potentiometer though. Thinking about it, one could rig up an arduino...

Has anyone heard of or tried Toseven mid drive?

Yes, just had a quick look. I can't read much on my phone but it seems that the cadence is calculated from the period of the current pulse, not read from a physical sensor. Will look again tonight. I am curious to see how it's done.

Has anyone heard of or tried Toseven mid drive?

yes please. My reply is in the context of a general crank motor which may be a Bosch (which I believe uses field weakening too) or others that may have a cadence sensor. The TSDZ2 does not have a cadence sensor.

Google 'field weakening control'. It's a technique used by OSF TSDZ2 firmware and others to extend the cut off cadence, beyond which the assistance disappears. The technique advances the phase of the drive current, causing a change in the two motor constants (motor (Km) and voltage (Kv)) thus...

yes, but only to customers who need to outfit a second bike using the battery we supplied and to installers because of product liability.

there are several aspects that need protection in a new crank drive motor: 1. the shapes of the casing, the dimensions of the motor, commonly known as the design elements 2. the main sensors. There are 3 types of sensors in a crank drive motors: a torque sensor, a movement detector and a cadence...

I can't see piezo-electric effect being used as torque sensor in the context of a crank drive motor though. The pedalling torque is usually translated into an angular displacement of the chainring versus the crank. That has been used in countless designs. To measure the displaced angle, a Hall...

It's an old picture. It goes to show that I am a natural conservative! BBS01B for a long time, since 2014? AFAIK, Bafang don't make the original BBS01 version since around that time. The main improvements were water proofing and better quality FETs. I haven't replaced a single FET in BBSes for...

    TSD2 range ?!

The idea of a very poorly lit cave, freezing water, completely disoriented, all your air in a bottle is just too frightening to contemplate.

    TSD2 range ?!

Perhaps not that low 2.6wh per mile, but because you spin the cranks quite fast, battery consumption is lower than average. Next time you put the battery on charge, note the miles since last charge and the time from beginning to the led on the charger goes green. Knowing that the charger...

Help! My e-bike kit has been infringed, what should I do?

suing in Europe is straightforward. 1. Buy one of the kits they are selling. You need this to prove your case. 2. Check which part or parts you think they have used your patent or patents without your consent. 3. If you think you can prove the infringements, hire a patent lawyer. There are...

so what's different compared to the TSDZ2's torque sensor? The TSDZ2 uses two coils, the induction current in the induced side gives the torque measurement:

the TSDZ2 has also FOC controller. Can you give us more details about your strain gauge torque sensor? Drawings will be useful. is it fitted to both the DM01 and DM02 and available as spares?

The battery indicator shows a voltage between 41V (completely empty) and 54V (completely full) in 5 bars, each roughly corresponds to 20% or 13V/5=2.6V. You can see the voltage drops when climbing a steep hill, you lose a bar or two during the climb and recover after the climb, although the...

    Another Ebike conversion kit death

    ebike for hills.

The frame will take either. If I use the tsdz2, the bike will be 21kgs instead of 20kgs. If I use the bbs01, 21.5kgs with 36v 12ah battery. Then, it would be tempting to fit a 3 speed hub gear. I did something similar about 9 years ago. https://wooshbikes.co.uk/?zephyr-cdn It's difficult to...
