we buy our fruit and vegetables from EU producers, not so much from rest of the world. TM's deal let us remain in the SM and collect import duty. We don't pay anything to the EU until a permanent deal is done.

Should we look at this in another way? Tariffs are good for public purse and local industries. Look at producers with incredibly cheap energy (Russian aluminium, fertilisers) or vastly state-subsidised (Chinese steel, cars, plastic and PV panels). High tariffs are like split VAT rates, they help...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

760 million cars: are you sure it's not a typo? Container ships are assumed to be more efficient than any other form of transport. If you say one of those uses the same amount of fuel as 1,000 cars, that's believable but 760 million/15=5 million cars for each one super container ship? Super...

why shouldn't we have the right to decide for ourselves? I know of one case where a care home charges residents' families £7,000 a week for a single bed and 3 meals a day. Some of the residents have early dementia. It's time that we should be allowed to go in the manner we choose.

we can only achieve trading surplus when we can produce more for less per capita. That means we must compete against the top producers in the world. We can't do that with free market economy because the smart money will just move to where production cost is lower. We need a clear industrial...

the graph shows the national debt to GDP ratio. Vertical axis is GDP, the scale is 100% GDP, the horizontal axis is time, so you can see our borrowing against our ability to service the debt. You can see that our borrowing levelled at around 30% of our GDP during the membership period 1975-2008...

UK national debt since joining the EU: Membership coincides with the period of stability. Low tax is the driving factor to enlarge the national debt. Brexit means even more low tax.

6.9million European nationals have applied to the EUSS. I am surprised at the number. Are there 6.9 millions Brits living in the EU? That may explain why so many voted for brexit.

to be fair to the banks, they invented products within the legal framework that our successive governments have put in place. Just look at their solvency rules year after year. We need to tax their profit so our governments facilitate their greater risk taking year after year with the...
