Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Compared to ICE, we are still in the early days of battery technology. The bad smell of burning lithium batteries comes from the chlorine and or fluoride and or boron released from decomposition of their electrolyte. Soon, we'll use solid state battery which won't have electrolyte so when a...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

the problem is the anti-vax arguments seed reasonable doubt. If you are pro-vax, even have a good, solid, well above average grounding in scientific methods, which many MPs don't, you will have a very difficult job to unravel which bits in the anti vax arguments are reasonable and which are...

non-folder to fit in the boot?

I think it's the weight that breaks the jaws of the fork, not the torque.

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

    The vast majority, about 80%, have been vaccinated, so 80% of 65 millions = 52 millions. This group has 5 deaths per 100,000 per month, total 520 * 5 = 2600. 20% are unvaccinated, 65 millions * 20% = 13 millions. This group has 24 deaths per 100,000 per month, total 130 * 24 = 3120 deaths per...

    Cheapish Motor Wheels

Hub motors (the Santana 3) beat crank drive motors on user serviceability and price, and no need to worry about gear shift. The CD got replaced by the Rambla which was a brilliant bike. However, bafang charge a lot for their motors. The Ananda motor is much more affordable.

    Cheapish Motor Wheels

Until now, the bbs01b is too expensive for what it is, there is also the issue that many customers need a gear sensor and also can't replace the controller in them. Now, the ananda motor has fixed all the issues above. Reliability has vastly improved, no higher support cost than hub bikes. Out...

    Cheapish Motor Wheels

I prefer crank drive's weight distribution nearer to the centre of gravity, making the bike feels a lot lighter than a similar bike with hub drive. Also, I never need a gear shift sensor riding around Southend.

Cute Q70 motor for Brompton... which rim?

His rim needs replacing, the spokes are stainless so easy to re-use. Just undo the nipples and remount as they are onto the new rims. May be worth buying new nipples but there is no need to buy a new set of spokes. I would use sellotape to hold the old spokes as they are, saving a bit of time...

Motor for 130 mm rear drop outs

I think your torque sensor is a very good idea. Can the electronics be entirely built into the motor lid? If that can be done, sell it to the aftermarket.

    Cheapish Motor Wheels

The difference in cost between a hub kit and a crank drive kit is getting smaller, in some cases, to be less than £50. When you consider the greater flexibility of torque delivery of crank drives, the better centre of gravity and the time saving on installation, the £50 difference is well...

Cute Q70 motor for Brompton... which rim?

That happens often. You have to get them to confirm that you want double wall, 18mm wide, 36 holes, 349. Otherwise, they don't know exactly what you need. 16in for them is 305 rims, 22mm wide.

Yes, it should be OK. Spokes: you can reuse the old spokes. If you need a few more, ask Andy.

Cute Q70 motor for Brompton... which rim?

Brompton tyres are 37-349. You need a 36H-349 rim. I sold some spare rims in the last couple of years because nobody has them, now I am left with motors without rims. I am reordering them now.

    Cheapish Motor Wheels

I am moving toward selling parts, commencing with motors and batteries. For small parts, there is the long queue at the post office. I go there at 3pm. If I am lucky, the machines are accessible. If not, I have to queue for 30-40 minutes with people who need a driver licence or passport. Then...

Thank you for your understanding. Although the cartons don't need to have made in xxxx to comply when sold within the EU, if the bike is exported to the UK, the cartons must be conform to UKCA and marking rules on cartons, and carry a clear indication of country of origin. Cartons without...
