    agattu battery conditioning

For the purpose of conditioning, I take flat to mean when the battery cuts out. It is difficult to say how many miles you should achieve from a full battery, there are too many variables.

Possibly the easiest question in the world..ever

As others have said, you really should try both systems. I have very little experience of hub motored bikes as mine is the Panasonic system. All I can say about it is that the motor system has been faultless and I have been using it daily for the past 18 months in all types of weather. For...

    2010 Kalkhoff Range

Why do some models have a chain tensioner at the rear and the chain wraper at the front, whilst some just have the wraper?

    2010 Kalkhoff Range

It is a very good looking bike. Is that a chain tensioner / guide at the back of the Sahel Pro? Does it still have the front tensioner arm as well? I am assuming that it is an Alfine 8 speed hub of course.

    A very sad tale

An ex-colleague of mine who now pilots an air-ambulance sent me this message. just got home 2015, three cancelled jobs and one very sad one - a girl in her twenties knocked off her bicycle by hit and run driver! Bike in two pieces one piece missing, remaining piece 50 mtrs from...

Smart Led Front And Rear Bike Lights £7.95

The Smart rear light is very good. A colleague has one and it is very bright. I think it has a 0.5 Watt LED.

    Agattu

It's nice to hear that you are delighted with your Agattu. I am sure you will be for a long time to come. I've had my Kalkhoff for about 16 months now and that initial surprise regarding how good these electric assist bikes are hasn't worn off.

Pro Connect or e-Motion City DeLuxe 700

It does give a higher bottom gear, but on the standard sprocket the bottom gears are far too low. Fitting a smaller sprocket, in addition to providing nice top end gearing, moves the lower gears up into a much more usable range.

Pro Connect or e-Motion City DeLuxe 700

You can change the rear sprocket on the hub gear to give a higher top gear. Cycle scheme can be used to buy a bike over £1000. For example, if you want a bike costing £1500, you use the Cycle Scheme voucher to fund the first £1000 and pay the £500 from your own funds. By doing this, you only...

Pro Connect or e-Motion City DeLuxe 700

Well, unless you can afford too, I wouldn't spend over a £1000 on the basis of a coin toss :) . You really need to try out one of the Kalkhoffs. I have never ridden or seen an EMotion so I have no idea what they are like and can't advise you in respect of which one is best. That would most...

New Kalkhoff Pro Connect C 9-G Deore LX

There were several bikes on the Kalkhoff website that I wasn't aware of. Am I right in thinking that there is a 27 speed version of the Pro C? Looks like Kalkhoff have made some interesting developments to their range.

    Pro Connect battery checking

I have had a couple of batteries drop to 4 lights and 50 Cycles changed them both without hesitation. With hindsight, like HarryB, I don't actually think that there was anything wrong with either of them. My current third battery dropped to 4 lights after about two weeks of ownership. I had...

    50 Cycles SALE!

I think you are right here. When you start nudging towards £1700+ for a bike, you have to wonder if it is worth it. I think I will have paid about £1200 for my bike via cycle scheme and it was worth it. I don't know if I would pay in the region of £1700+ if I was buying one now. It's just...

    Cycling after knee replacement.

My wife had a total knee replacement 2 years ago aged 41. She damaged it 10 years prior playing netball and had lived in constant pain. Since having the operation, she has, with a huge amount of work, gained 110 degrees movement and says that it feels as good as new. She can cycle and walk...

    Lights for trike and trailer

The bike one isn't any different. It throws light everywhere and can dazzle car drivers if you're not careful. I usually point mine down and slightly toward the kerb and have not had a problem. For the rear I have used one of these built into one of these and this driver. In high mode, it puts...
