    Recommend a stepthrough with throttle?

Hi mm1, good decision, I really think this bike is an absolute bargain. I emailed you yesterday but if anyone else is interested, yes all our City and Trekking bikes have twist and go throttles. Strictly speaking they are for walk along use only and will only work up to the legal maximum of...

    Bargain: 575Wh Wisper 705 new £1,599; selling £899

It does, the throttle works up to 4mph and up to 15.5mph as long as the pedals are turning forwards. All the best, David

    Recommend a stepthrough with throttle?

The above is a great buy, even if you have to replace the battery which is very unlikely. All the best, David

Hi Speedy, It will be available on all our bikes. From next year you will be able to choose from three capacities as standard, 300, 500 and 700Wh.

    Replacement battery - cost?

Hi Speedy, we have two batteries, 375Wh at £299 and 575Wh at £499 as a rule of thumb the larger the battery, the longer the range and the longer the bike will run on optimal power. Both fit into all our bikes. A Wh (Watt hour) can be considered a measure of battery capacity a little like a fuel...

    Bargain: 575Wh Wisper 705 new £1,599; selling £899

The 705Torque is one if our biggest sellers. I will get it onto our site as soon as I am back at work. It’s not the best time of year to sell a bike. Re the warranty I would be happy to transfer the warranty to the new owner, but would need the bike to be checked out by a Wisper dealership...

Panniers recommendation that fit a wisper 905 torque?

Thanks Signwave, is our latest rack and as Neal says will accept the Ortlieb panniers or any pannier with a 10mm plus clip. This includes nearly all the good brands. We can supply an adaptor if needed. All the best, David

    Replacement battery - cost?

Thanks Neal, Hi Speedy, Neal is absolutely correct. As long as batteries are properly cared or a low capacity battery (375Wh) will last for three to four years and a high capacity (575Wh) for four to six years, as a rule of thumb. Yesterday we sold two replacements to people with seven and...

And that was 200W max not nominal! Uggggg. I would imagine though we will simply adopt the EU reg.

The same applies for practically every electric bike on the market Asian or European, including Shimano! Bikes should not be sold set to break the limits and certainly should not be ridden derestricted. We all need to be sensible or as I say we put ourselves in danger of losing this dispensation.

NEC Cycle Show 2017: Wisper e-MTBs, Swytch & other highlights

I agree entirely Steve, 15.5mph is too low a speed. In my capacity as Chairman of the old British Electric Bicycle Association, (BEBA), I had many meetings with the DfT regarding throttle usage and top speed. 15mph was deemed to be the speed that a reasonable cyclist could average. Our argument...

Hi Dave, can you imagine if that accident had been caused by an electric bike with a dongle fitted. Whether it was turned on or not would make no difference to the police, judge or jury! All the best, David

Thanks Col, It's great to get a considered response. Surely this is what the forum is about? We are all learning, especially me! None of us have the perfect eBike and none of us ever will. Thankfully "The best eBike" will always be a matter of taste. The eMTB is growing so rapidly in...

NEC Cycle Show 2017: Wisper e-MTBs, Swytch & other highlights

Hi again Steve, I have read through the thread again. You will see that I was discussing the test track at the show and the point that Bosch would not allow Shimano on their sponsored track whereas Shimano didn't have a problem with Bosch sharing their sponsored track. Eddie PJ posted "I can...

Hi Steve A, welcome to the thread, I noticed that you disagreed with my posts condemning riding illegal bikes in the UK and disliked Crocker's post on the same subject. Would you care to say why? I see you also ride an illegal ebike. Do you understand that if you have an accident (god forbid)...

Hi Trevor, I don't think there is a dongle yet, but I may be mistaken. We have an OEM dongle that enables us to set up the motor, but we needed to open an OEM account to get hold of one. Let's hope they manage to keep it clean. Bosch seem to be struggling with the current motor set up...
