those sping loaded contacts can seize up with water ingress. To stop that, put a glob of grease over them. The grease will help with keeping electrical contact when you ride over a bump.

There is no hole, the motor cable has a proper rubber grommet. Water cannot get inside the crank motor but can get inside the bottom bracket. If you ride in rain a lot, keep a bit of grease the bottom bracket, behind the cranks.

I can confirm d8veh observation - the cable channel on the BPM is not sealed, just greased. I'd ring Woosh and ask to talk to Hatti and ask her to justify to me why the charge. BTW, do you do your own routine maintenance? If you ride in rain a lot, it's prudent to pack the motor axle with grease to stop water ingress.

you can't be expected to pay if the problem is not caused by yourself. As you said - you don't jet wash your bike then it could be rain water. Do you park your bike under a shelter?

the SWX02 has been used by other suppliers too, including Oxygen. Samsung cells have come down in price, a 13AH now costs about the same as the 10AH last year. I am sure any maintream e-bike supplier can make a decent bike with SWX02 and 13AH battery for about $550. Translated to GBP, I reckon...

Woosh are upgrading their £585 Sirocco, I expect the SWX02 and the 13AH Battery will be on it. It is easy to up the current on the new Lishui HL1260 controller to 18A, that will give a similar pull to the BPM.

actually, you don't have to pay more than £700 for a decent e-bike. That £700 budget is good for a bike with a 13AH battery, 8-Fun SWX02, decent fork, decent hill climbing ability and decent disc brakes.

£1,000 for Chinese bikes, £2,000 for Bosch bikes. It's more social divide than must have. Just like where you want to shop for food, Aldi or Waitrose?
