Help! Cannot find a bike for someone my size in UK at all!

I would recommend a very sturdy 4" fat bike. or convert something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wind-Greeting-Mountain-High-carbon-Suspension/dp/B08C4ZSXW1/ref=asc_df_B08C4ZSXW1 The full suspension will protect the spokes.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

what do you think of Kier Starmer's plan to freeze energy price at current level at the cost of around £30 billions? Money well spent? or should the help be more targetted, with a social rate on energy for the poorest?

    Electric bike problem

you can't change the PAS wiring. There are only 3 wires, +,- and signal. Swapping out is the only simple way to find out what the mystery is.

    Electric bike problem

did the customer replace the pedal sensor? Basically, the programming of the controller can set the PAS to either polarity, single or dual Hall PAS. I use dual Hall for all my controllers. Dual Hall accepts both the North and South polarity so statistically saves time.

what kind of connector you have at the pedal sensor? if it's Julet type, swap out with another pedal sensor.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I fear that the debt mountain of £2 trillions is what keep the socialists away from power. Successive conservative governments have borrowed and borrowed to cut taxes. A socialist government would have to a) convince a lot of voters to pay a lot more taxes b) to balance the budget and keep...

I agree with most your points but not the character assassination of genuine socialists though. Can they form a viable government? They will need to borrow large amounts for a very long time to make ends meet. Would they inspire confidence of the creditors or will they just print paper money?

Relatively fit cyclist wanting to use car less for a 10-15km commute

for that distance, I would recommend the Woosh Faro. You can easily upgrade its components - something I would have done if there were enough volume; carbon fork, better transmission, better handlebars, saddle and pedals. https://wooshbikes.co.uk/?faro

Piggy-backing PAS signal to send Cadence data to Bike computer

the signal stops when you are not pedalling. It may be useful for a heart rate monitor but useless for a speedometer.

Piggy-backing PAS signal to send Cadence data to Bike computer

if you mean sending PAS signal to a speedometer? no, that won't work when you are freewheeling.

    Thoughts on 'friction' drive?

the main issue of popular conversion kits is the battery. It has to be good enough to give you about 250W of assistance for your maximum regular rides. That depends of course on the type of rider you are, and can be 1 hour, 2 hours or 3 hours. If you use a small drill battery, 36V 3AH, it is...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I can understand her ambition but she and the brexiteers are not realistic. Even before any rosy future can be gleaned at, the task to get Britain out of the present difficulties are immense. I watched Greg Wallis (inside the factory - XL, BBC2 yesterday) getting excited about the new red London...

Help choosing kit - probablly Whoosh but will consider others...

rear axle dropout on the Rambletta is 135mm. We'll do a rear hub kit for the 20" bike at some stage, for now, the priority is settling down on 21700 cells and crank drives. Container cost is still very high.

Help choosing kit - probablly Whoosh but will consider others...

You can lace the DWG22C to a 20" rim but the motor I have does not have the correct winding, you need 280 rpm. The current version has 210rpm winding. The best solution for a 20" rear wheel kit is the motor I got for the Rambletta (DWG07C cassette, optimised for 15mph, max 18mph) but the...

Help choosing kit - probablly Whoosh but will consider others...

all our motors are optimised for 15mph. Both 48V geared hub motors, DWG22C and SWX02 give about the same performance (60NM) and efficiency. The main difference is the DWG22C has freehub fitting for cassettes while the SWX02 has thread for freewheels. The DWG22C needs 180mm or 203mm brake rotors...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

should Sunak wins, we would still be hit by recession, high interest rate, high tax until end of 2024 according to the BoE forecast. We could head for a hung parliament.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Tide may be turning for sunak. Liam Fox was on TV telling tory members that we are paying 85 billion in interest payment this year, twice the defense budget. Is it wise to borrow much more? At the same time, Truss said on TV that inflation is set to drop later this year. She should change her...
