Thanks Crockers, it was good to meet you and thanks for your kind words about the Wisper 705Torque and the RM bikes. We had so many great comments (particularly regarding the Wisper Torque bikes) and took a good number of orders. It was a good show. All the best, David

It could be one of so many problems. The best recourse would be to refer to the manufacturer. It's always tempting to buy a product from China, but you need local support and back up esp. with such a powerful bike. If you are using it on private land, you should make certain there is...

    Are there 'gold standard' brands/manufacturers?

I should clarify, that we will supply a loan bike if we cannot fix a problem within 5 working days after the bike has been returned to our workshops here in Kent. This applies to bikes still under warranty and if the issue is covered by our warranty. It applies to the mark 2 Wisper Torque bikes...

    4000w 60V 38Ah electric racing scooter

If you have not already done so, please make sure you get it type approved, insured and licensed before you use it. That's if you can. It may be possible to register it as a motorbike, the police will consider it as such. If you are stopped by the police whilst using it and have a driving...

    Are there 'gold standard' brands/manufacturers?

Hi Nemesis, I agree the CX is superb, however the new Shimano MTB 8000 is probably as good IMO.

Reliability is certainly a key factor. We have had a few Bosch issues. The most important point is to make certain any issues are quickly dealt with. This can be a problem when dealing with Magura.

I saw three of them there too Keith, Richard and John, and had a long chat, it was nice to see them again. They mentioned they had probably made a mistake by not showing. Paul and Rick Stanforth were also there for a couple of days.

converting carrera kraken..back wheel came off :-|

To achieve a wheely simply by twisting a throttle probably indicates the motor power is well above the legal limit. This also demonstrates the reason we pulled out of the kit market and dropped DaaHub. The frame and bike that's chosen to fit the kit may not be suitable. Ebikes are designed to...

Good point Bob, a couple of those brands seem to have disapeared and others don't have anything really worthwhile to shout about. The show is horribly expensive for brands to attend, I suppose they didn't think it was a good use of funds? Like you, we had a great time! All the best, David

The problem was The stand had a big wall running own the middle, a very poor design IMO. There was always one and sometimes two chaps there but he/they could well have been on the other side of the wall! All the best, David

Shimano have a bigger stand near the EBike village where most of the serious brands are gathered including the less expensive. The Shimano staff here (next to us) seems to be manned at all times. All the best, David

    Are there 'gold standard' brands/manufacturers?

Really, they are not. They are simply bigger businesses. At least one of the businesses you mention simply chooses all its components including frames from a catalogue bolts the bits together, gets the frames pained in their colours and stick their logos on. Many smaller businesses design...

    Are there 'gold standard' brands/manufacturers?

Hi OP It's very simple. If you want to find a gold standard use EN15194 as a starting point. Every EBike on sale in the UK must conform to EN15194, the current European standard, if it does not it is not exempt from motor vehicle regs. Unfortunately there are many ebikes that simply don't...

Hi Kittycat, I can confirm no problems with a 705 carrying 130kg. Incidentally we have met a chap from Cork who will bring in the bikes for you. Let's chat next week after the show. All the best, David
