    Brexit, for once some facts.

That good! Are you sure? All too many stories were more about "have paid for" or "supposed to have" rather than it just being abysmal.

There's a bit of a coincidence there - from TT to TT... At the time of TalkTalk's worst nightmare time, I was dealing with several people who had misguidedly installed TT for broadband. Every single one had issues which did not get resolved for at least weeks. It was appalling.

It does. :) The facial recognition aspect has been pushed out as an update for convenience. After all, lots of people choose facial recognition to unock their phones (not me!). But it is quite clear that if any form of immunity passport system is implemented, facial recognition would be a...

Seems there are enough unhappy tory MPs to have the power to inflict a defeat on Johnson. (44 or 60 depending on exactly who you count.) A quite remarkable demonstration of how not to deal with, well, everything. ADDED...

IOS 13.5 quickly switches from facial recognition for unlocking to fingerprint or PIN. Was a specific enhancement due to covid-19.

It is being discussed as part of the "NHS app". And there have been suggestions that T&T will in some way become part of, or linked to, the NHS app. I am not currrently able to use NHS app so it might not be an issue. But I suspect at some point we will get it simply because of the excess...

I want to want to install the app and help with tracing. Am inclined not to at present. Lack of trust in security and how well it has been written. Lack of proper explanation of how it is even supposed to work. Lots of questions about the possible linking to the (English) NHS app and facial...

I am perplexed at how Wales and England appear to be implementing different tracing systems. Although it is very obvious for me, being where I am, the Wales/England border is very long and incredibly wiggly. So even with lockdown still largely in force in Wales, there will be a lot of...

I see Sajid Javid and Penny Mordaunt are not convinced by DC. Historical note: Edison's support of DC was wrong-headed.

So if Cummings or family get covid-19, more accurately, a symptom of covid-19, they will be just as able to flick a V-sign at the other 66 million in the country as they were? They are saying fines will be put in place later (probably, at least). It wasn't me angling for them. But if they are...

If you’re phoned up by a contact tracer and told to stay at home as you’ve had contact with an infected person, is staying at home compulsory or can people use their judgement, Clark asks. Johnson says no, they will be asking people to stay at home. If people don’t follow that advice, financial...

Have seen this discussed over many years in the context of other nasties. Yes, 'tis well known. Think that brass and bronze and silver are also effective. One of the problems is that everyone went for stainless steel (or chrome, etc.), or coated the metal in a lacquer of some sort, in order to...

I really don't get this local lockdown idea. Surely everyone will just leave the hotspot for their family homes? Thus enjoying not being locked down and able to go out and about like everyone else? After all, it is unlikely that, say, Islington and Durham will both be hotpots at the same time.
