    Brexit, for once some facts.

Apparently, they have already arranged for another booster for the aged in the new year. The shot only gives about 3 months worth of protection and people in my age group (most of whom would vote tory) had our booster last September/October. Trust me on this, another shot will annoy millions of...

I am surprised that the public rated Sunak so highly. He is remembered for 'eat out to help out', borrowing 400 billions and stupidly lent billions to fraudsters without a single check nor collateral. He's hardly better than the rest of BJ's cabinet.

Yellow cards are only the raw material, you can use them for detecting relative trends but can't count the number of deaths following the jabs as solid evidence of vaccines causing deaths, same with government counting deaths within 28 days as covid deaths. I think the government has accepted...

this year, not locking down is less dangerous than last year. Those currently being in hospital are mostly unvaccinated or over 75. I reckon that the level of hospitalisation will peak at around 15-January with less than 30,000 being treated at the same time.

it can knock 10% off the staff level of the NHS. I don't think they have much choice if the number of covid related hospital admissions go over 2,000 a day.

I thought Labour did alright, Libdems benefited from vote lending. Bad only for Johnson although Labour need Johnson to stay in post until the next election.

Dr Suzanne Hopkins said that they need 250+ covid in-patients in hospitals before they can get an idea how dangerous Omicron is. That may be why Raab mistakenly told Sky that we have 250 in hospital with Omicron. The number was 10 yesterday.

If 90% of the samples they tested are Omicron, that's good news.

I am watching Chris Whitty answering questions by MPs. He backpedalled a fair bit, especially on the question of the link between number of cases and hospitalisations. He obviously knows that some of those that need a covid pass will have to be tested which will increase the number of daily...

it's a whole ecosystem based on conservative party values. Liz Truss has pretty good parents which is more than the other candidates: Jeremy Hunt, Michael Gove, Rishi Sunak, Pritti Patel and Matt Hancock.

they discussed the subject on Newsnight last night. The general idea is BJ will not be leading the conservatives into the next election and likely be out next summer. Liz Truss is the new Mrs T. and in pole position to replace him.

I am sure there are lessons to be learned. There is a new vaccine going on test at the moment based on a segment of the virus RNA that has not changed so far to see if it remains efficacious against all variants.

his view seems to confirm that Omicron evades previous infections an vaccines but not T-cell defense. It's good to see more jabs but the end result wouldn't be much different if the jabs were delayed until the new year.

This article singles out two paths that help the virus to mutate, super spreader events and immuno-compromised patients. Perhaps more effort should be made there.

Dominic Raab said this morning that there are 9 patients in hospitals with Omicron. Today is the day that Omicron will take over Delta, I would have expected an Omicron wave as big as Delta but apparently not yet. I am generally for erring on the side of caution and covid preventative measures...
