    Durable Mountain/City Bike around £2000-3000.

installation is usually not a problem. The light is off, the cables are factory made, you only have to push in a connector. The risk comes later. As you said, you don't know how many amps the lamp is going to draw, and what would happen if or when the lamp fails. The issue for many users is how...

    Best £1500-2000, derestrictable e-bike?

48V is the practical and LEGAL definition of the maximum voltage to be considered "low voltage" and intrinsically "safe". Certainly 48V delivered UNDER your relatively insulating skin surface could kill you if delivered in the "right" place. That's the reason why you don't have road legal...

    Best £1500-2000, derestrictable e-bike?

I would stay clear of any member who wants to derestrict my bikes. If the bike is involved in any accident while going at over the speed limit, the lawyers will crawl over every angle to see who they can sue.

the controller is the circuit that controls the motor. On Bosch motors, it's the large green board that you see when you open the motor casing. The problem with using prewired lighting system is the accidental shortcircuits that you may inflict on the electronics if your lights fail or their...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

what do you mean unofficial 19mph? did you have a tongxin kit on your old Brompton without an LCD? If you have an LCD, the speed limit is set in the LCD. You can change the setting but the motor won't go much above 15mph derestricted.

Most customers sail right through the job. A few need clarifications so although it's a bit harder selling kits compared to bikes but on the other hand, picking parts for a kits and pack them up take only a few minutes so overall, it's not a bad business. It's just that we don't have much time...

Are you going to keep the rim? Most conversion kits come with a completely made up wheel, motor, rim, spokes and rim tape. Building a motor wheel with that old rim is not only time consuming, it also does not save you any money.

Short distance folding ebike to put in the boot of my EV

we supply the kits with cablesets made to fit so you only have a minimum of excess wires. That reduces the risk of electrical faults. That's why I can only offer kits for typical setups where there is enough volume. The only time I entertained a customer's request to install an HL downtube...

The bags have hard shells with clips. You don't have to strap it but I would strap it in, belt and braces. The pack is not boltable but the hard shell may be drilled and bolted. I will supply batteries to trade but am not ready yet.

You can install or strap a bag battery to the rack but you can't strap a rack battery to the seat post. This is a 48V 10AH bag battery (2kgs) for my TSDZ2 and BBS01ET, the connectors are normally inside the bag:

Short distance folding ebike to put in the boot of my EV

the main issue with other folding bikes than the Brompton is how and where to attach the battery. I am making 3 bag batteries for them, one to go into a saddle bag, the two others are in tube bags and can be attached to either the top tube or the downtube. They weigh between 1.3kgs-2kgs, so it's...

I can see that your pack is carefully built, but without knowing the story behind it (was it a replacement, which controller you use) and whether the BMS has a soft switch, reverse current protection, charging current protection etc, it's difficult to guess why your BMS died. It could be...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

what we should do is to do what Gordon Brown did for the 2008 banking crisis. Call up a G7 meeting and thrash out a plan. Countries that import gas agree to cut about 10% of their gas imports, countries that export gas need to increase their export. That will stop the hedge funds betting on ever...
