    Review MiRider One

Quote: "I then worked with the manufacturer KT to modify one of their Sine Wave controllers to offer what I call "Torque Simulation"". Factually incorrect. KT have been producing torque simulation controllers for 8 years - long before you ever contacted them. Quote: ""Torque Simulation" is...

    Carrera Crossfire Excessive friction?

No software updates that you can do yourself. I can't remember anybody else ever getting one on that bike. I've ridden those bikes a few times. I always found them pretty normal and never had to think about pedal speed, though it's clear that you have to pedal with reasonable effort to get the...

    Cyclematic powerplus power problem

Does your motor have the 9 pin connector under the chainstay or does the cable run all the way to the controller? There are two versions.

Bafang 250 or 500w for touring

All 48v versions are illegal. The only way to get a sort of legal one is to get a 48v BBS02 and a 36v 250w BBS01, and swap both the controller and the motor with it's housing, so you have a 250w unit with the 48v controller and motor. the main casings are the same. The problem then is that the...

    Cyclematic powerplus power problem

That would indicate that you've blown both the high and low blue phase mosfets so that the red battery wire is connected to the black one as a dead short. You can confirm that if your meter has the beep function for testing continuity. If it beeps when you put your probed on the two battery...

Hi there my name is Gary and 63 and quite new to electric bikes. I wonder he anybody knows about the Carrera Vulcan e bike

LCD in the centre is the old type. There are three things I'd look at: firstly, the motor connector under the left chainstay. Unclip it and make sure it's properly connected, then zip-tie it out the way of where you can't kick it; Secondly, the torque sensor connector and the wire from the...

    Review MiRider One

So just say it as it is: You've asked the Chinese suppliers about controllers, cables, etc, and they've proposed the system that you have, which you think is nice and waterproof, the controller has current control and a fast response time so it's very user friendly. You don't need to try and kid...

Bafang 250 or 500w for touring

Mid drives are not suited to over-volting. the only way to get more power is with more current, but the internal gears are not really strong enough to take that far on the 250w versions. I think you'd be better off with a hub-motor. Get a 250w 201 rpm 36v one and run it at 48v 17A to get all...

    Review MiRider One

Oh dear! Sorry to be negative again, but we've been discussing the fast response of KT controllers since 2013 - long before the MiRider was even a figment of anybody's imagination. Don't try and blind us with science when we've been working with these things for so long. I'm not judging your...

Bafang 250 or 500w for touring

The rating is the number written on the motor or in its listing/specification - nothing to do with how much power you put through it. If you have a motor marked 250w, you can put 1000w through it and still be legal, but if you have a motor marked 350w and only put 100w through it, that's illegal.

Wisper Brand New Wisper 705se Grinding Brakes

Have a look at the caliper adapter. Two things: 1. Which way up it goes; 2. Stiffness - maybe try a different one. I've done a couple of modifications on caliper adapters. both times when I compromised the stiffness of the mounting, they sang and vibrated. Another possible solution is a...

Non bike rider grateful for any advice

Everybody can ride a bike as long as they don't have a mental of physical disabilty. I guess you mean that you haven't ridden one. Very soon, you'll be gliding down to the shops like the rest of us.

Bafang 250 or 500w for touring

The motor has to be rated at no more than 250w to be legal in UK and EU.

    Husqvarna Chainsaw Battery

You can only use an alternative charger if the other two wires aren't used by the system. Normally, they're comms wires for CANbus or similar.

    Cyclematic powerplus power problem

If you go back to my post #4, everything still stands. Your tester has done test no.2 and shows that the halls are OK. You threw me when you said you had no throttle lights or 5v. It looks like you have a replacemnt throttle. Back to my original theory, I'm pretty sure you're going to find...

Hi there my name is Gary and 63 and quite new to electric bikes. I wonder he anybody knows about the Carrera Vulcan e bike

That's not a very clear description of the problem, nor do you tell us which version you have. The latest version is different to the original. What do you see on the LCD while this is going on? Is everything normal?

Help! Replaced a Bafang 250W motor with a BFSWX02 36V 350W Bafang Rear Hub Motor

The original motor had 1 magnet in the hub for the speed sensor and the SWX02 has 6, so it reads six times the speed. If you can't find a setting in the LCD, you can open the motor and prise five magnets off the plate. They'll probably fall off in time anyway.

Don't forget the CANbus, so you can't fix it yourself. What happens in two years time when they all need new batteries?

Sorry, I was starting to believe some of that until I read what you said about the controller. I now have to call bullsh!t. The Chinese came up with " torque simulation" donkeys years ago. Why can't you guys just be honest? You'd get a lot more support if you were.
