One of the points Kier made in his speech is he came to politics relatively late because he was pursuing a career and was not a professional politician. That sounds right and credible to me. the majority already have done in practice what flecc explained. Our media pick up rightly the various newsworthy protestations but they also add an American inspired anti-China campaign spin to the basic events. Our interest is to work with all countries and tolerate some differences.

I hope there are many more like you! As you said, there is little difference between soft Labour and soft Tory. I still find soft Labour more electable.

I think we will have to put up with China expanding their defense spending. Their industrial capacity has already surpassed USA's. We should really stop spaffing money up the proverbial wall. What would our submarines do in the China Sea? Time for our Navy ruling the waves is well and truly...

The louder A. Rayner, A. McDonald, J. McDonnell and JC are at the conference, the more moderate Labour members need Kier. Anyone interested in a change of government can see that KS is the only realistic solution. I see in Reeves the voice of reason.

I believe Labour may have turned the corner from this conference. Kier does not make himself more electable but by giving Rachel Reeves the finance job, he's made Labour more attractive to industries. Reeves believes in QE but not nationalisation.

John Simpson interviewed Pakistan's PM Imran Khan on News24, Afghanistan: the Pakistan view. @Zlatan: you should watch it. How the American politicians always prefer military solutions and end up making every situation worse. NATO is the typical American solution to contain Russia. It's on...

you close your mind to the idea that many NATO members - UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy etc can defend themselves without the USA. They have already enough sticks to wipe out humanity. They are bullied into joining and buying US armaments under the excuse of compatibility but they don't need...
