It's not the Beebs fault, trash TV like Strictly Come Dancing and Mrs Brown's Boys are what the great majority of the UK public demand. If the Beeb don't provide it they watch the alternative trash on ITV instead and the Beeb loses it's reason to exist. Goodness knows they've tried hard...

    theft of electric bikes

Yes, that is the best way to protect against theft. The Dutch who almost all cycle have an immense cycle theft problem, so when they buy a new bike they often go to extremes to make it look worthless. A common tactic is to amateurishly hand brush paint with house paint it in a couple of...

Receiving goods from the EU post Brexit - no deal

As above. You are correct on the current arrangements since we are considered internal to the EU as one country, but on WTO terms we are just another outsider to everyone else so not subject to their domestic taxes. We pay tariffs instead plus our own VAT on arrival. .

    Interesting Bike inventions

Highly unlikely. Most suited to flatter areas of course, that is where the winds are strongest as on the Dutch polders and our flatter eastern counties. With that large, high slab side and narrow cycle lane wheelbase it will be blown over by each strong gust. .

At the cost of the common public as I observed. Which do you think they'd prefer, to be far better off individually and out of harm's way, or the money used to make us a country at the top table, subject to the hatred and envy of many and a potential nuclear target? We have the balance all...

In fairness they've been making them here for ten years and will continue to with the Leaf model. The decision for the new Ariya model is a Europe wide one, now tariffs between Japan and the EU are disappearing, making it not worth tooling for the new model which will sell mostly on the...

It's always been like this, it's how we maintain the image of being a first world nation justifying a place at the top table. We are in reality a second class nation ripping off its own most vulnerable citizens to buy the symbols of top rank. Nuclear submarines and weapons, aircraft carriers...
