10 links of half inch: your caliper shows 12.33cm. It should be 12.7mm. If it's not more than 12.7mm then the chain is not stretched. You can always measure from centre of link pin to centre of link pin for better accuracy. Let's wait for the result of the blue gear test.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

the EU can climb any high horse it likes, the reality is the EU does not have any means to police what lands in Belfast themselves. In practice, UK Border Force can continue waving the containers through the port of Belfast.

ha ha.. don't overtighten or you will not be able to remove the cranks later. Half a turn would probably be enough after 2 years.

Tony, could you tighten the left crank bolt really well just to eliminate it from the list of suspects? You'll need a long 8mm allen key for this. Small allen keys don't have enough torque, you need 45-50NM, 345 inch-pounds.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I am pretty sure the EU will accept to extend the grace period to the end of the year for some brownie points. It costs them nothing anyway.

the longest step is always the correct diagnosis and we'll get there. That's a good point. We can exclude the cassette but still can't eliminate the freehub body where the pawls are. We have now to reduce the list of suspects: - blue gear - pedalling clutch - elongated chain - freehub body To...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Back in last December, BJ was in a tight corner, he needs to do a deal asap so he had to accept the NI protocol with 6 month grace period. As far as I can see, it's up to the EU to start their grievance claim and as it subcontracted the policing of the sea border to the UK, I can't see how the...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I don't think that the issue is UK does not understand the implications of the NI protocol. It's a matter of practical considerations. The protocol hurts specifically the people of Northern Ireland for years and years to come until a new protocol is agreed. No UK government is going to do that...

Hi Tony, There are two clutches in the motor, the first is a blue plastic one linking the motor's spindle to the chainring, the second on the bottom bracket linking the cranks to the chainring. 1. If it clunks when the motor runs on throttle without pedalling, then the first clutch is suspect...

Andy has a finer hearing than mine. He suggested it could be the chain skipping on the cassette. BTW, the clunk happens also when the motor is off. The simple test is to run it on different gears. If the slippage happens only on some gears then check for chain skipping. Could you locate the...

No. I've seen the video you uploaded. It sounds like the blue gear slipping. If it is it, we have spares.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

the NI protocol has an inherent fault: the chosen Irish Sea border is totally within UK territory. The job of implementing and policing is subcontracted to one Boris Johnson who has the least interest in defending it. We should negotiate with the EU a quota system: how much British meat, butter...

    Which Kit?

For the distance you want, I would suggest the 85SX kit or the XF08C with 17AH downtube battery. The Aikema 85SX motor is very quiet and lightweight (2kgs). https://wooshbikes.co.uk/cart/#/product/uid-253-85sx-17ah/85sx-rear-hub-kit-with-17ah-battery...

yes. No. The magnet disc is behind the silver cup. If the magnet disc is stuck, it may cause the LED to stay on. No. The maximum speed is set in the LCD. Please note that we don't support derestriction. Your second picture shows the spoke magnet of the speed sensor. Did you mean the speed...

Beat Bike Toba Crossbar (Bike Log)

The Santana3 has derailleur gears and a hub motor. You don't have to pedal much if at all so changing gears is not necessary most of the time.

Beat Bike Toba Crossbar (Bike Log)

The Santana3's throttle is normally activated after a bit pedalling. You would need to tell us to reprogram the controller for twist and go.
