I don't object to covid, just want to know what it means to live with it and if the NHS is still be there a year from now. Talk of us prepared to accept 100,000 new cases and 200 deaths a day, 6 millions waiting for hospital treatment etc don't inspire confidence.

we need to invest in treatments. In view of the huge sums spent in the last 18 months, I'd say £100 billions for an effective treatment is a bargain.

so do you think that BJ won't do a u-turn when schools reopen in September? I reckon he'll have to even before September. Hospital admissions grow by 55% a week at the moment. At this rate, some hospitals will refuse covid patients in about 6 weeks.

it has to protect the NHS and the majority of its citizens. Just ask yourself how many covid hospital admissions a day the NHS can take. Blaming those who do not protect themselves is a cop out for BJ's government.

this country is much more densely populated compared to the European average. You try to tell the people to keep themselves to themselves, social distancing, not many will follow your advice. They know now there is long covid and still want to book a holiday in Spain. If we hadn't had lockdown...

that money bought time for the vaccine. Now we have it/them, BJ does not have to worry about the moral hasard of the Swedish approach.

what do you think 'living with covid' will be like a year from now? what if the economy requires that people who are infected without symptoms are allowed or required to continue working?

I think foreign investors did not buy much of our Treasury bonds recently, so the BoE had to take them on by buying back from the banks (Quantitative Easing). Most of the last 18 month deficit was bought by BoE. Quantitative easing: 2009: 200 billion pounds. 2012: 375b 2016: 445b March 2020...

General Advice for Bike Choice When Doing a Conversion

choose a lightweight bike with alloy frame, a squarish downtube, air fork, hydraulic brakes. I like converting Giant bikes. They are good value and easy to work with. Bike weight is my top consideration.

that should work. The CO2 simply replaces the space left by extraction of CH4. After all, a reservoir is just a big pressurised bottle.

you'd need a 20ft container for one of them and currently, the cost of shipping that container from China costs £5,000. Then taxes will be charged on the total of the cost of the car and its shipping.

they call their hydrogen 'green hydrogen' though. Still, it makes sense to capture and store the by-product CO2 from the process of making hydrogen and the location seems appropriate.

like the common cold, people will get re-infected, again and again. OG posted yesterday a link to an article that explains very well why if you are vaccinated, your immune system will fight covid far better compared to someone who has not been, even if that person is younger than you.

only because we have lockdown and other measures. Today, we have 32,548 cases, all the stats: cases, hospital admissions and covid deaths went up 44% in the last 7 days, At this rate, by the end of July, cases will hit 100,000 a day. By the end of August, 420,000 a day. What will BJ do if case...
