Yes, of course, we'd all like to know. The crap that is pouring out of government mouths - all the issues have been sorted in just four weeks of BJ. And Gove saying this is the worst scenario - but just what prevents it being reality? And if it is that bad, will BJ and his mates volunteer to...

OK - raise the prices so that the agreed price is £320k or £321k. No real change by placing the onus on the seller rather than the buyer except that the price agreed will end up £1k higher than otherwise. (Obviously, all agreements are subject to haggling, etc.)

Let us take your figure of £320k. Tax at 5% over £300k. What real difference does it make if the buyer has to pay £300k for the house and then another £1k stamp duty or the seller has to sell at £301k and then pay £1k stamp duty? Of course, the agreed price will take into account this stamp...

Is it only me seeing an irony in the NI connection? Seems NI could have become the iceberg. As for the meaning of titanic, how about this: Another myth concerning the Titans revolves around Dionysus. At some point in his reign, Zeus decides to give up the throne in favor of his infant son...

But if DT has already built a beautiful, beautiful wall (that we are going to pay for), the UK won't actually be able to discharge its subjects into Florida. We'd end up more like Puerto Rico - offshore, not quite a state, and utterly ignorable.

If, for example, the UK imports chlorinated chicken (as just one example), I can see the EU being very wary over anything they might want to import from the UK which contains chicken. The obvious thing would be for the EU to try to stop any chicken-containing imports from the UK. Even if that...
