Are handlebar gear changers back to front

I like thumb shifters, and I change gear with a thumb that was broken a while back (the one that tells me when it is going to snow...). I mean you change up with your index it is only down shifts with the thumb and most times I shift down 2 gears per click. Red light or obstacle ahead 2 pushes...

Fitting PAS sensor to Claris Double - help please

I discovered like you that the KT12L is really handed. You can get it to work upside down and disk flipped over but it is a pain in the rear to mount that way. What I have done is transform an idler pulley on the trike by drilling holes in it an inserting magnets. Yes it is on the right hand...

    First bicycle road accident tonight.

Well I fell off on my own on the way to work. Missed the entry into a round about and took out a road sign... Of course I fell on the shoulder I luxed years ago in a motor bike accident... Broke a solder in an XT60 so had to grab the spare battery to get to work where I am now going to suffer...

    B&M dynamo lights

Is the rear light fed by the front light? Bad contact at the output from the front light in that case would be my first guess. Second idea would be to put in new wiring to the rear light it has probably seen better days.

    Motor & Battery Combination.

If you had chosen a 26" wheel the fit guy would climb at the cut off - personal experience on a 9.4% average climb - 20 km/h on the gnarly bits up to 13%. And contrary to those who ride a hub motor badly it helps a lot to be in the correct gear. I have a couple of spots on my commute which...

Front hub 48v motor for very hilly area

On opening my controller there is a small PCB under shrink wrap that appears to be connected to the lighting output. What is on that PCB is a mystery but I am guessing the transistor you mention. My idea was to use the light output wire as the low voltage side of an optical relay as per the ES...

Front hub 48v motor for very hilly area

Startup Backlights and Headlights Hold button (UP) long, the meter turns on the backlights as well as the vehicle headlights (the Controller should have headlights driving and output functions) Doesn't that work? I have never tried myself TBH...

Front hub 48v motor for very hilly area

You need the light output wire from your controller, does it have one? If so you connect it to a relay switch and the other side of the relay handles the 42v side of things. Personally my light is on 24/24, it is a good security feature.

    STVZO Lights (with lenses)

I have my wired in lights connected to wires spliced into the power in wires on the controller. When I plug the battery in (now using spark free XT90 plug) the lights are on.

    Help! Batteries.

OK so I have almost finished my first "learning experience" battery. I did nick my finger on a nickel strip Lee had slipped into the welder packaging. I don't know if I should write this down as "vfr400 was correct" or "beware of free gifts from Asian friends"...

    tsdz2 on an ICE trike

You need so low a gearing with 20" wheels? One day I may put the GSM in the trike and was looking at 46-32 as a wise chainwheel option with an 11-42 wide range cassette. 32:42 will not get me up the hills around me unpowered so the option is never run out of battery. And in case of break down...

For Sale Compact and nimble Cargo Bike

It's a long way from where I live... But it would be an ideal new home for the GSM. I can't bring myself to fix everything that is wrong on my Number Two, best to invest in a "new" bike.

Fitting PAS sensor to Claris Double - help please

I bet that one is wired for a Bafang controller. Just going by the plug, usually the ones for KT controllers have JST plugs.

    Bafang BBS01/2 power levels

5 settings seems to be the usual choice on the BBS01. Tell her to never use the 5th setting or she may find herself in orbit around the sun with Elon's "Starman"... :p

Bafang BBS01B 36v 350w mid drive run on 48v battery

I need more speed because my natural cadence is well over 90 and I get back EMF. I agree that a 33% increase is too much however. You can tweak that speed increase with an 11S or 12S battery rather than the usual 13S and 14S choices on the market. You can run a 36v controller with a 12S...
