    The table on ES says <19 Amps for 1 mm2 copper wire. I was thinking of making a jig and soldering the copper wires on before spot welding the Ni strips. Then spot welding a second Ni strip on top for good measure, the parallel connection needs to be able to handle 10 Amps in case of cell...

    All motors are a little stiff out of the box. Once you have used it for a while it will free up. Some are stiffer than others - my GSM turns freely now but didn't when I first got it.

    You need to run the motor in - say a couple of hundred km.

    Drill holes near the edge of 10 mm strip, lace the wire through the holes, flatten with hammer, hold down with clothes pegs during soldering.

    The controller cuts out within a range of 2°C air temperature - 8°C is OK, 10°C is too hot :eek: Yesterday afternoon it cut out when I came home with a trailer full of epoxy and glass fibre. Last night it didn't break a sweat... Still towing trailer but I must admit the fish in the bag wasn't...

    No losses - lost in the wiring, motor efficiency etc. etc. Former member tech guru said he estimated it at 25% but between 20 and 25% is about right.

    Mine displays Controller Watts and is spot on when compared to the Wattmeter I have inline between the battery and the controller.
