    Brexit, for once some facts.

Even if that were true, and it does not follow that other countries in Europe would assume such flexibility, and distinction between a formal letter advising of a decision and the subsequent renaging. Can one imagine the uproar that would ensue? Put simply no letters of comfort, no documents...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Any UK government and elected MP s are assumed to be responsible people charged by your Queen with the most prudent management of her realm. Following an unfunded, unthought out strategy, even where it is threatening to break down many of the principles they hold dear , where all the indicators...

    Fascism returns to Spain

My thoughts were directed much further east towards a big bear. A weakened eu would have less energy to support the Ukraine.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

This is an interesting sentence... " with each step Eurosceptics in the UK became moreuncomfortable and more numerous" And begs the question why was it 1. Brits are brighter than europeans nd can see truths which others can't 2. They were fed a diet of innuendo and false information 3...

    Fascism returns to Spain

Daniel...you seem well informed about constitutional rights and our responsibilities towards those rights. From my brief research it seems to me Catalonia and its current borders date back to around 1649, later than that Cerdagne ( originally " Spanish/ Catalan) became French territory...

New battery technology. If or When?

I had thought of that or more likely a mechanical flywheel arrangement with generator would be possibly be a more economical store. Electro Chemical storage is expensive in any event and say 100kwr of flywheel energy would work... Particularly if it were housed in the underground cisterns that...

New battery technology. If or When?

Were it to be true and scalable it would be significant for electric cars but not as useful in ebikes where capacity and weight are more important. However there are even constraints there. were a 30kwhr battery to be recharged in 10 minutes it would be a load of 200kw. No domestic supply...

    Chainrings - is this correct?

Maybe! Without access to the algorithm, we are both speculating. The software could be using chain speed as measured by revs of the chain wheel and road speed by a magnetic sensor to infer rear gear.

    Chainrings - is this correct?

Why assume it's rubbish. Changing and increasing the diameter of the chainring will increase the torque load on the crank shaft. And this will reflect all the way back onto the rotor in the motor. So of course and being anxious to prevent a kalkoff type situation they will be wary. How is road...

Oh dear, oh dear. she would both have got away with it , and scored a number of points if she had just added..." As that wise but imaginary US President Bartlett said...".

I didn't realise that the Captus no longer has lights,.. I feel sure that when I bought my Motus last year the only differences between the two were smaller battery ,cable brakes , and a different model on the gears. They then upped the spec on the Captus to include hydraulic brakes...anyway...

    Fascism returns to Spain

Define independence. From what I have read, and I will readily admit I do not know Spain, it would appear that they have a lot of local independence and autonomy for local government, police, school, justice, taxes . It is exactly the rise of militants and bloodshed, that the judicial...

    Fascism returns to Spain

When you use the word Madrid , are you referring to the central government , where it would be possible to negotiate, or the consiitutional court, also located there and which interprets the consitution, and to which arguements may be made, but cannot negotiate.

    Fascism returns to Spain

Well, as I said above, we didn't see the need for all of the UK to be involved in either the Irish vote in the 1920s or the recent Scottish vote. But of course, neither Ireland or Scotland were a vital part of the UK economy, unlike Catalunya is to the Spanish economy. The distinction was / is...
