Putting e-bike to bed for the duration of C-virus.

driving out to the countryside for a walk or a ride is a sensible thing to do for those who live in large cities. I took a walk to the seafront yesterday. Wardens are out in force dealing mainly with the usual yobs who have nothing to do but congregating and beer drinking. Still, I had to...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

we follow the same path as Italy and Spain. Do you want to see the NHS on its knees in just 10 days time? 15% of their staff may contract the disease while caring for others plus 10% in self isolation, 4% may die of it. Life will slowly get back to normal in a few months when people can be...

Bosch Battery Service Centre Recommendations - mail order?

I have never badged my bikes as 'made in the UK' nor stick any flag on them. Even the logo is modest. Assembled yes but not made. I made the spec sheet and when the shipment arrives, screw the parts together.

use the Woosh Faro as a yardstick for lightweight. It has the Aikema 85SX motor (2kgs), a seat tube controller (250g) and 36V 8AH inframe battery (1.8kgs). Total weight: 16.5kgs with lights, bell, rack and mudguards If you use an external battery, you can unlock and remove the battery to ride...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I think we have two waves because the simulation says that you have to break the large single wave into two to help the NHS. The model is adjusted such that the NHS is just about coping with the first wave to buy us some time. Not knowing the height and width of the large single wave leads to...

try also what fordulike suggested with a little grease - you will scratch the black paint a little but you won't hurt the motor.

Chinese companies are flexible. They sell you what you want. They make carbon fibre bikes for everyone for example, from $500 to $5,000 a bike. One thing though, they don't rip you off for spares.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I wish our NHS changes its protocol for reporting the death count. At present, they count the deaths only after the family allows it, so the figure is systematically wrong. Yesterday's count is not relevant to those who actually died yesterday of corona virus, but days before and there is no way...

Leave the grooves alone! dremel only the welding spots, not the thread! You want to be able to put the bike back to how it was and move the kit onto another bike some day. You want to smooth out the welding spots so they don't get in the way when you push the motor in.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Lockdown is needed to help the NHS, and indirectly the old as much as the young. all people who are not at risk at the moment will be sooner or later. It's only right that we all have to share the cost of supporting one another while looking for a cure. Some measures like those taken in the...

Check inside the bottom bracket shell where the tubes are welded together for excess welding. He will have to file off any welding that protrudes or sticks out. I use a dremel in the workshop for this but if you don't have it, sandpaper takes more time but will also work. If you still have...

a lockdown, even like it is at the moment, can't last long. I can't go see my doctor, dentist, have a haircut and my local supermarket does not have much on their shelves. I am after some soap today. The High Street is all shut. Sainsbury's has no soap. No pasta, not much meat, fish counter and...
