    Brexit, for once some facts.

Good to be reminded of this forecast. So much has been discussed and shouted about, it is far too easy to forget or miss many of them. On Saturday the UK turns remain. Parliament must force a second referendum Polly Toynbee May needs to ditch her intransigent red lines as a population...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

If we could be guaranteed a re-admittance on current terms, you might at least have an argument. The idea that we might have to go through two years of whatever happens followed by "Shall we rejoin?" fill me with horror and despair.

Remember that JRM voted against May's deal despite being apparently dead keen to get no-deal. So that actual number against no-deal has yet to be tested in a real HoC vote.

How I wish I could disagree. Maybe I am a determined remainer, but I have yet to hear a case for leaving which stacks up. I have repeatedly pinched myself and tried to think whether I could accept leaving. My answer is always the same, if a suitable strong case were made, I'd at least...

And PC's view: Plaid Cymru Westminster Leader Liz Saville Roberts says after the "decisive" rejection of the prime minister's deal, if she survives a no confidence vote, there should be another referendum. Ms Roberts - whose party opposed the deal - says: "The Brexit pendulum is swinging in...

Right on cue: Scotland’s first minister Nicola Sturgeon has said that the SNP supports Jeremy Corbyn’s confidence motion. Describing the vote as “a defeat of historic proportions for the prime minister and her government”, Sturgeon said: It has been crystal clear for months that the Prime...

There are many who have argued that brexit itself has the potential to destroy the union. Not least, the SNP.

The very last thing we want is May saying anything more (or, as so often, again). The only words we just might wish to hear are: "Sorry folk, I was wrong, I now withdraw A50 and resign."

Uniting against a common foe is understandable. (Mind, I remember some stories about how selfishly some people acted during WW2.) I just do not see how we apply that to now where the deepest antagonism is within the country. I am absolutely sure that many who are stockpiling voted to leave...

Sadly, looks to me that there has been little positive in the direction of uniting the country. From an emotional direction, it feels as if every day something else happens to make the disunity worse. Reality is likely not to back that up, of course.

Müller, Danone, etc., can go get stuffed! Far too much low-fat, high-sugar stuff. This evening's delight was Lidl frozen raspberries (75g) plus Lidl Greek-style full fat yogurt (250g) whizzed for a few seconds. I feel highly cultured.

We are switching over to at least adding whatever we want to yogurt, albeit ready made, and avoiding the crazily high levels of sugar so many flavoured yogurts have. I first made my own yogurt in around 1967 but it is difficult to persuade myself that it is worth the effort when the best...
