    Brexit, for once some facts.

EFTA is a good way out in a couple of years after we try no deal brexit. The Express did a poll a few days ago. The question was: what would you sacrifice to trade with the EU? 2000 of their readers answered. 4% would give fish 2% would accept level playing field 1% would concede on security The...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Today is the deadline for the UK to decide whether it wants an extension to the transition period. It looks like we are heading for a no deal brexit. Johnson's waving the fish but who is listening beside hardcore brexiters? I can't see what the EU is going to offer up for British fish. At the...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Each PCR cycle multiplies the segment we are looking for (if present) by 50 times. One, two or 3 cycles are usually sufficient to measure the amount. Each sequence consists of about 20 amino bases plus directions (3' and 5') such as this sequence in the IP2 region that is used for Covid test...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

There is no simple way for a new disease like Covid19 to attract medical attention before it kills (or make them seriously ill) several people in the same family. it's like digital signatures, the diluted concentration is not an issue, they are well within the capability of our equipment.

Ebike still legal if I run 36V motor at 48V and limit speed to 15mph?

No. The 36V is more efficient at low speed, the 48V is more efficient at high speed. The crossover point in this example is 18mph where both systems are equally good.

Ebike still legal if I run 36V motor at 48V and limit speed to 15mph?

that means you have to pedal very hard with the 48V system to make it match the 36V. Not what you want to do normally.

Ebike still legal if I run 36V motor at 48V and limit speed to 15mph?

how do you define a 1KW motor? most e-bike motors can take in 1kw but some will last longer than others. The test concerns with running the motor at 250W for 30 minutes at 25 degrees C. The motor needs to be stable temperature wise.

the study relates to sample sewer water taken last year, before WHO was notified by the Chinese. That's why the interest. Anyway, samples are tested as is with RT-PCR for SARS-COV-2's signatures (IP2/IP4/E regions or genes). The normal CV test schedule is contained in this WHO document...

Ebike still legal if I run 36V motor at 48V and limit speed to 15mph?

people get easily confused with torque. It's better to think in term of power which is easier to relate to because you can feel it in your own muscles. when you increase the voltage from 36V to 48V, you move the RPM of the maximum power point (where the motor shows how grunty it really is) up by...

Ebike still legal if I run 36V motor at 48V and limit speed to 15mph?

If you are a law abiding citizen, you will be pleased to know and need to remember that on flat roads, your motor produces about 200W to help you ride at 15mph. You are not breaking any law regardless the number of Watts on your motor label as long as you don't derestrict your bike. Even with a...

I don't think many scientists spend their time looking for a conspiracy. The problem with SARS-CoV-2 is that it kills a lot of people so it receives a lot of attention. Similar viruses and even precursors (it it's man made) that don't kill their carriers won't be tested and would go undetected.

Ebike still legal if I run 36V motor at 48V and limit speed to 15mph?

I know you deleted this question but it's a good one. No, I am not concerned about the ambiguity we discussed. I've said there are proposals to tamperproof the bike's settings and I welcome that. I like to stop derestriction but I also respect people's choices they make for themselves. As far...

Ebike still legal if I run 36V motor at 48V and limit speed to 15mph?

I don't think so. If you derestrict the bike, you are at fault. It's nobody else's.

Ebike still legal if I run 36V motor at 48V and limit speed to 15mph?

there is no real need to change the law as it is. The person who is caught speeding is the one rightly punished. If you start looking for someone else to blame, then cars manufacturers for example would have to fit automatic speed control and even if they do that, can still be sued their pants...

Ebike still legal if I run 36V motor at 48V and limit speed to 15mph?

The EN15194 test schedule has no provision concerning how tamperproof the LCD must be. Although we all understand what a computer software switch is, the idea that a piece of computer software which can be modified is therefore a switch has never been successfully tested in Court as far as I am...

Ebike still legal if I run 36V motor at 48V and limit speed to 15mph?

I think there is a degree of confusion here. It is not the responsibility of the manufacturers of LCDs to lock their LCD. It's not the responsibility of the kit vendor to prevent his customers breaking the law. It's not in the EN15194 test specifications that the LCD could not be altered by...

Ebike still legal if I run 36V motor at 48V and limit speed to 15mph?

it's very easy to 'lock' the speed limit to the wheels RPM but customers can force manufacturers to let them have access to the settings unless the norms specify the protected settings.

Early samples at the factory need to be properly certified before going into production but OEM variations are certified by similarity to share the cost out to several thousand units.
