Total cost of an ebike, around 45p a mile?

You know probably the guy s who bought their black Rudges and Raleigh s in the 1940s , would have made the same comment about 1980s bikes... ... Again I disagree. There are very low cost bikes available in any supermarket, toyshop and even in Halfords, costing around 120 euro. Anyone who...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

... I am confused, is it the likely hood of his prediction coming true that you disagree with or the sentiments of a militant anti-militarist.. If one can be so described.

Total cost of an ebike, around 45p a mile?

... Fully agree. In my case a contributory factor was that my place of work had introduced paid parking for staff and also reduced the amount of car parking available, so the combination of having to drive around looking for parking and then having to pay for it was galling, so I got an ebike...

Total cost of an ebike, around 45p a mile?

... Not in my experience. I acquired about 12 years ago a 1965 vintage Moulton, it's still going. My 1975 Viscount Aerospace dropped handlebars racing or touring bike with non puncture tubes , is still operational, my wife's 1982 Raleigh, will be going again in a fortnight when I replace a tyre...

    Interesting

.. well one thing available on a working car is high pressure air . Those baby electric compressors can give 10 to 12 bar. It looks more like a design excercise than a feasible product. Kevlar is not cheap .

.. variance costs .. colleagues of mine from Germany once told me that every vw golf was unique or at most two identical. When you factor in body colour, upholstery, wheel trim , motor type, fuel ., power, wheel size, audio system, etc etc. . However that means having a sales agent talking...

Looking for affordable step-through to commute up-hill

. The Motus has a super carrier and a pannier , even a low cost Halfords one will clip on, use it for the bike lock,. Rain gear and it's will carry the old litres of milk etc.. In terms of. Locks I noticed an abandoned bike in a city centre location last week, prestigious brand frame without...

Raleigh Motus or Giant Prime E+2 ?

Enjoy .. it's a good product. When I stop at coffee shops I just use the built in lock and remove the display panel and put it in my pocket.. the bike cannot be used electrically without it. , And it would be easy to steal. If going to a shopping centre, I would use a heavier coiled steel lock ...

Raleigh Motus or Giant Prime E+2 ?

... The Motus is a good product. Strong, smooth and with the Bosch system very refined. Coming from Raliegh there will be parts support into the future. I cannot comment

Breaking Raleigh motus ( Bosch active line motor 400wh battery )

I would agree with the previous poster. The Motus is a working system and with 800 miles on it is is fairly new. . New it's a 2k bike so it should be worth 1200 complete and working. You can bring that battery to a main Raliegh agent and they can printout the battery diagnostics ... Cannot be...

No longer have a car, new to Ebikes...

... The best practice is to top up the battery after each day. The internal structure of the cells actually expands and contracts as it is charged and discharged. So minimising this movement maximises lifetime. Using a good sized battery you could be looking at 4 to 5 years before it has lost...

I MHO, your expert opinions are anything but humble. ... There is a contrary view that a wider tyre. Pumped to the same or higher pressure, has actually less rolling resistance than the narrow tyre. ... Counterintuitive. I would respectfully differ with you in regard to the crank drive . The...

.. Perhaps two years as a cyclist will make you a more caring driver. I could not understand the racist comment . I cannot see how it is applicable. Options for transporting ebike by car

... Well with the TT that is about as much as you can remove without an angle grinder. Suggest it's Bad practice to leave the battery on the bike, if it mounted externally. The catch holding battery inplace could . Fail.

    Simple question

Eo I suspect that it reduces the weight somewhat , otherwise there would be another reduction required in the electrical power and a bigger mass in the chainwheel. It probably allows the electric motor to spin faster
