You could go for a 44, I have a 42 as replacement for a 46 and it is just that little bit too much. Your cassette will be an Acera HG41 11-34 which is already a pretty low gear. This might help: http://www.bikecalc.com/gear_inches

The 8 has better gear spacing and there is a "premium" version which has needle bearings instead of ordinary old bushings. In fact the premium version is actually the Alfine 8 speed without the disk brake mounting...

Just to add a little spice... The EU publishes regulations, sovereign national governments pass them into law (or not - as in NI). Throttles are a very UK thing, you won't find many on bikes in the EU even though they are easy enough to buy online from EU electric bike stores.

What is your lowest gear? Sunrace make a wide range 11-40 otherwise 11-34 is pretty common.

IIRC there are many more magnets in the GSM I think it may be the same PAS as the bafang BBS01.

Mine worked OK with the KT controller but it also worked when pedalling backward and it had a lot of run on when you stopped pedaling. I have forgotten the setting it worked best on because I fried it pretty quickly by plugging it into the speed sensor plug by mistake... :oops:

Sorry, I don't have that controller I have the S06S. I fried the PAS by plugging it into the wrong JST connector but it went POP! so I had no problem diagnosing... :oops:

You can equal it with a mid-drive with external controller and derailleur gears :D Mostly because it mounts in aluminium frames without torque arms and you get high torque when you need it and speed when you need that too!

The chain suffers because the trike is folded after each and every ride... I can park it safely but the components suffer, always a compromise...
