I feel a bit sorry for him, just a little bit though. He knows it's stupid to do brexit without a deal because the risk of capital flight and divestment from the 'independent' UK is very real but what can he offer to those who can vote for him against BJ's direct tax cuts? It's funny that when...

he still controls the HoC's business, so potentially can get brexit through unless 3 of his MPs want to perform seppuku. I was hoping Farage would intervene sooner to discredit BJ but I fear he has let BJ off the hook.

there will always be cases where some people take advantage of the system one way or another. You can't just leave the poor and needy die because you assume that they let themselves fall into that situation.

that's what means test is for. Some people can afford to go private and jump queue, some have to wait but pay a fraction of the cost, the poor have to wait but get the treatment for free. it works OK in France where most people take out "assurance complémentaire santé" (aka Mutuelle).

seriously, in the next few years, NHS patients may have to be mean tested for expensive treatments, ie you pay 20% of the cost of your hospitalisation or expensive medicine if you have x amount of savings. That will raise additional resources and encourage health insurance and private health...

Before 2008, the NHS was about OK-ish. Now it's in a dire need of money. most of us pay in more than take out, it's to be expected that we want better efficiency but think about it, the answer is not more tax cuts or promises of reform, the answer is everyone who can afford private healthcare...

no, if you look for a low cost solution to caring for 66 millions of people, with about 11 millions over 60s. the US spends 17.2% of its GDP on healthcare. If we spend anything like that, our NHS would be much better than it is at the moment. We spend about 9%-10% on NHS and care for the elderly.

there must be a large amount of standardized practice in any large organisation. Just think of the amount of printed manuals I send out with every bike and kit although people are supposed to have read them online before ordering or the amount of cartons and soft packaging material...

yes, about the shape of the fork but I did solve that particular problem with a 2mm washer. the thing is the word torque arm is misleading. next time you see an old fork at the tip, try to break its jaws with torque. I bet you hurt your hand before busting the jaws, even with your longest 10mm...

I would have thought that they think of themselves virtuous because they pay in more than they take out. That will always be the case for the 2 out of 3 majority. That's our current situation and that keep the tories in power. If you want socialism to succeed, you have either to have governments...

Just google 'e-bike with front hub motor' Check out 20, 30, etc. 100 models bikes with front hub motors then tell me which ones have torque arms? There is none. I should rest my case there, but I don't dismiss the role of torque arms when the motor is heavy. You should check out all the pictures...

you want efficiency? do it yourself. If you delegate, you have to spend more money to improve the service. Look at the NHS, care for the elderly and schools. One after another, every politician ends up wasting money on reforms.
