    Brexit, for once some facts.

TM's problem is the parliamentary arithmetic. As turkeys won't vote for Christmas, I think most of the ERG members won't oppose TM. JRM will command possibly about 30 'fundies' when the deal is presented to parliament in November or December, TM could be home and dry if rumour of 30 Labour MPs...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

you are going to hear a new word in brexit lexicon: 'customs regime'. It's not a customs union, not 'the' customs union, it's a kind of temporary membership of the EU's customs union that the UK will remain in until a trade deal with the EU is in place. "U.K. and EU diplomats said that intense...

do you watch BBC1 'Press' drama? 'The Post' in this drama reminds me of the Daily Express. The headlines are written by the 'backbench' to 'engage readers', not by the guys who write the articles.

    Giant Evo display fogging up

No, I don't say it's normal. If my customer's LCD fogs up, I have to replace it. So I don't want to fit LCDs that can fog up. As I said, the new J-LCD has the battery replaced with a supercapacitor so no more battery cover that can let air in, the fogging problem with that particular model is...

    Giant Evo display fogging up

it was Dario who asked me directly for IP rating twice. In fairness, Dario did apologise for going off piste. The point I made is all LCDs that breathe air will let some humidity in and can fog up if the bike is not kept in a dry place.

that means the ball bearings are in sealed units. Most square taper BBs are of that type nowadays. You can't clean the ball bearings in these BBs, when they get notchy, replace with a new one. They cost £10.

    Giant Evo display fogging up

they are. I used to replace about 3% of King Meter LCDs every year due to fogging. The old J-LCD has a silver coin battery and the battery cover does not have rubber seal, so humidity can get in. Since we replaced them with new models without the coin battery, the problem goes away. Bafang...

Which motor for cycle courier build? (60miles per day)

I would not recommend BBS01B for work. it's not powerful enough, spares are expensive and more prone to water damage. BBSHD would be a better choice but it's expensive.

Which motor for cycle courier build? (60miles per day)

there is always risk of broken spokes with geared hub motors because of the very high torque that these motors generate, made worse by their own weight. The inertia of the system cause spokes to snap when hitting potholes. The simplest solution is to give the motor some suspension that will...

Which motor for cycle courier build? (60miles per day)

BTW, the BPM motor needs a new set of ball bearings every 4,000 miles and a new clutch if you carry a lot of weight and ride in all weather.

Which motor for cycle courier build? (60miles per day)

I'd go for a front BPM on a steel fork, rear rack battery.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

they are a tiny fraction. Luck handed them a government without its own majority that they can blackmail. Their influence will fizzle out as soon as a deal is approved by Westminster. TM will turf them out as soon as next April if she still in her job.
