    Noseless saddle?

I looked at those but am not sure I would feel safe on fast, twisty downhill runs. The split saddle I have has converted me, there is no compression of soft bits and the breeze is very comfortable during the warmer days. No more sweat marks on my shorts!

    Gsm vs bbs01

And of course the effort you put into pedalling, I get about 5.75 Wh and average 16+ mph on the road or 3.75 Wh and 10 mph average in town.

    My new project(s)

UPDATE: I have started painting the frame and bits and bobs today. I hope to put a GSM mid drive on this one. I think it is probably a cheaper option than doing all the modifications to migrate the Mxus over from my current bike. In an ideal world I would like to buy the version without a...

Best ebike for 40 mile per day commute (hilly!)

OK so I reread the thread and you want to get to work in an hour or less which is an average of 28.16 kph. I can ride a "normal", "legal" pedelec at an average of 26.7 kph on my commute above when I am in shorts and tee-shirt i.e. pushing it a bit. I am building another bike (...

Can I derestrict a Cyclotricity 250W kit? Recommendations for lightweight hybrid?

Mine is set to 27 kph which is just under 10% of 25 kph. The cutoff is noticeable when you are pedaling hard, not when you are just pottering about and starts coming in at about 26.4 kph.

Will the end of full speed throttles in January 2016 cause a rush to buy.

No veo nada en diarios... If you do go to Spain and you are English respect the law to the letter would be my advice. You can thank your unkempt youth and their binge drinking, jumping from hotel windows into pools (or missing the pools...) public nudity and other general bad behavior for...

Best ebike for 40 mile per day commute (hilly!)

That is about the distance of my "commute". The station is at 12 km and I take the train from there but sometimes I miss the last train so need to be able to ride the 33 km back home. Sometimes when the weather is nice I do ride there and back. On my not very fast 26" wheel bike it takes me an...

    Charging e-bike from street charger

The Satiator can be attached to the frame (if you have the space). The aluminium shell type could be adapted to have a ring attached to it so that it could be locked to the bike. Just a couple of thoughts. It is an idea which is of great interest to me too.

Can I derestrict a Cyclotricity 250W kit? Recommendations for lightweight hybrid?

Many of us can cycle at 15.5 mph on our own power. I can even do it with the motor switched off so am moving myself and 21 kg of e-bike! The motor will help you get to 15.5 mph then you, fresh as a daisy, will only have to add the effort to get to 25 mph. On the flat or downhill why not. Uphill...

Best ebike for 40 mile per day commute (hilly!)

The legal speed is 15.5 mph + 10% tolerance so 17 mph You could set a bike fitted with a kit to 17.5 mph and if you are a fit cyclist could probably average that speed. I average about 26.4 kph with the cutout speed set to 27 kph but I don't push too hard when I am wearing my city clothes. As...

Anybody who has spent time on an e-bike exhibition stand, will appreciate this thread

And pigs fly, Elvis isn't dead.... There is a tendancy towards ultra light bikes with low assistance levels (125-150W) for strong riders. Just that little extra to help on hills. But when salesmen sell such bikes to "ordinary" riders, and they will, the negative feedback will kill their dreams...

    how far

I recently did an experiment where I left the assist on level 3 most of the time (on assist 5 up two hills on the way home because too much red wine...). I got 67 km from the charge and there was still about 10 km left in it (one bar). I am stronger so I can ride up my steep hill on the way to...

    Legislation and e-bike conversions

Lucky me I am in the Basque Country not in Spain. I bought a "road legal" Spanish kit so I will just tell the Ertzaintza to contact the Spanish company in the extremely unlikely case that I get pulled over. I ride on the other side of the frontier at least twice a week and have never seen a...

Hi - I need some help choosing a bike for my wife

Is that frame steel or aluminum? My girlfriend has the same style frame and my thought was to put a mid drive on it and put a bottle battery under the frame, there is room between the frame and the mudguard.
