Looking for new fast ebike. So many choices!

I am looking at getting my average speed up because since June I have suddenly found myself doing more journeys over 50 km than anticipated. "Fast" for me is an average speed of up to 35 kph or more compared to my current 26 kph average. This can be done within the limits of pedelec law on my...

Converting from two to three wheels

Um this bike was designed to help people just like the OP I don't quite get all the resistance, not designed and made in the UK? Still have a Spanish Armada effect over there? The bike stands up on its own. It only tilts so far I bet an experienced cyclist (20+ mile trips says the OP) could...

    Consumer Rights Act 2015

I have never seen a throttle, thumb or otherwise, on a pedelec here. In shops or on the street. If a policeman here saw you riding your bike without pedalling and you weren't wearing a helmet (motorbike type) and it didn't have a number plate I am fairly certain that you would be pulled over and...

Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

This thread has inspired me to go on a mission: Build an s-pedelec, get it through the current registration procedure, insure and register it as a moped before series type approval etc. comes into force. Then procede to ride it with a German speed pedelec helmet, not a motorbike helmet. Either...

Woosh Big Bear 1 year on

I thought that Neil Armstrong had joined the forum for a minute there... Wind has been stopping me from riding this week, not rain but today I will buy a tube of silicone to prepare the bike for the coming months. I am thinking cling film for the LCD, I know it isn't pretty but...

Nope just a peek at what you risk if you ride your dongled e-MTB over here when on holiday.;)

Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

Some French (Google translate is your friend) which is about kits on "mopeds" (scooters these days), the same law will apply to dongles on pedelecs hypothetically because the pedelec becomes a moped once the dongle is on... The risks for scooters which are often capable of up to and over 80kph...

    Self driving e-bike

Yeah right, eco-friendly war zone transport... As if it mattered that it was an e-bike. "We have reduced CO2 emmissions by 18% in our war zones by the use of self driving e-bikes". Lovely, saving the planet one war at a time...

    Gsm vs bbs01

Sorry I was meaning to say same battery/contoller combo on two bikes. I have a cunning plan. So on one bike it would need to use the internal speed sensor and on the other an external one. Just a question of splicing a connector for the external speed sensor into the internal speed sensor wiring...

    Gsm vs bbs01

http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/09-bottle-battery-controller-speed-sensor-installation.20709/ D8veh to the rescue? I am guessing it is the same controller in both batteries? My goal is to be able to use the same battery on two different bikes.

    Gsm vs bbs01

Very interesting motor especially without the internal controller. Coupled with this https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-battery/773-36v145ah-case-08-bottle-panasonic-battery-pack-battery.html#/27-ac_voltage-200v264v would be my option. But the BMS page says that it needs a motor with internal speed...

    27.2 seatpost in a 26.8 seat tube

The reason I even mentionned it is because the other day I tried fitting another seat post to my frame and had the same issue and that was the sollution I though might work for me. Did some googling and it won't work for you, your tube is too thin. Sorry More Googling and the lathe idea can...

    27.2 seatpost in a 26.8 seat tube

If you turn the post down you will need to have it powder coated as well in order to prevent it being in contact with the steel frame. Having just this weekend had to seperate some steel screws from an aluminium frame trust me you do not want direct contact between the two. Maybe if I say...

    27.2 seatpost in a 26.8 seat tube

A dowel that is just under 26.8mm and some emery paper and sand out your .4mm. That is not going to weaken your down tube by too much.

    E-bike prices

Now I have a goal for my next build! When I weighed my current bike at 20.5kg it had mudguards on, and a frame lock, and a mirror, and a rack, and lights (not the same ones as now) and 26x1.75" tyres, are they considered wide? Next time I will buy 2" Big Bens.

BBS02 Kit,750 Watt,25 Amp on Apollo Evade MTB

Unless it has a silly big cog and the low end derailleur you already have doesn't have that size in its range. My mega-range 14-34 is working really well for me, I can now ride up most hills around here without the motor (I have a 42 tooth on the front).
