what's wrong with your motor? those SWX02s are pretty sturdy. The only thing fragile on them are the hall sensors. They are easy to replace. I have SWX02 motors but on 26" rims, but not in 27.5" rims.

that's where the controller is. Check the bullet crimps - they carry high current, if any of them getting loose, their resistance will create heat.
