A Question about Rats and Air Guns

I use a pcp Air rifle .22 (2nd hand airarms s200) with scope, silencer & 10 shot magazine, to deal with pesky grey bush tails. PCP/pressurised are quiet but need addition of compressed air cylinder or a pcp pump. . Depending on the pellet used a chrono shows it fires right up to 12 ft lbs...

    HaHa it actually happened......Cheat !!!!!!

Only cheating if racing or in competition. Another way of looking at it is, it may put off that heart attack that may be around the next corner. Fit regular road rider aged 60 dropped dead recently on the ride London near Leith Hill at the 60 mile point, if he had an electric ride it may have...

Torque arms for rear wheel drives - are they really necessary?

If possible try and make you own torque arm, it can then be the shape you want to blend in better. A one piece arm is what I make no joint to move, the important bit is to make sure axle hole shape is snug and tight then only requires affixing to the rear end. Often you can use an existing...

    DIY build

You will find it hard to buy a geared hub marked 250w unless it is off an old bike or part of a kit. Most are sold marked as 350w or 500w. For 20+ mph you need a dual voltage KT controller and lcd3. Better option is to keep your current rear gearing and fit a 250w GSM (controller less...

    A FRESH START

Aren't they damn heavy and I only have the 8ah ones which I use in 10s config. I am slowly dumping my lipo once I have fully discharged them. Haven't decide what to do with the G's at the mo but may wire up a permanent 10s bms for more manageable charging.

Cyclone 500W, what battery in UK?

To see if the system works the easiest option is to wire two 12V car SLA's in series to see if the motor turns/works, if so then you can confidently but a proper battery. The lifepo4 although about 20 -25% heavier then lion will have much better discharge rate unless you buy high discharge...

Cyclone 500W, what battery in UK?

The battery will depend on the controller amp rating, internal controller. The unknown is knowing the controller rating an email to Eclipse may shed more light on that. http://eclipsebikes.com/index.php?cPath= External controllers are often 50 -120a , internal likely to be 25 - 40a hence the...

South East London, UK, on a tight budget

If the bike is restricted to 25km/h then yes regular/road touring bike riders will be faster and up hill as well with some powerful riders. Not all hubs are equal some like the Bafang's are pretty impressive and better then others. Riding about the cut off can take some effort on some hubs as...

Anyone know what happened to username d8veh?

AFAIK Nexus & Alfine 11 oil bath and Alfine 8 is grease. The oil bath is to remove any small particulates from the moving parts, with the draining to remove excess oil. The bath also is meant to reinvigorate any grease that may have dried out a bit, some then re-apply with grease. I myself...

    Winter...

The only thing I do for winter riding is warmer clothes and Scwalbe spike tyres for my 700c Norco town/commute bike. My other bikes I ride with no changes. Don't leave bikes out in the rain for too long, ok to ride in the rain but not to leave standing for hours on end without cover. Water can...

    Disappointed with a Pendleton e-bike

The Wisper you may be able to test ride if you have a dealer within range, the Woosh bikes you can't as they are mail order unless you visit Southend. Both will give excellent CS.

    Disappointed with a Pendleton e-bike

Wisper 705T is step thru with Akiema XS128 high torque rear hub, 700wh/19.5ah battery £1600. If you want a slightly cheaper go for the 575wh/16ah battery, Or a Woosh Santana two versions should do the trick Bafang rear hub or mid drive with the extra gears. Both a bit cheaper with the...

Full suspension touring bike with panniers and mud guards

The official Thule site pack n pedal is rated 11kg, this is probably just the top base max weight rating. Third party sites say 25kg kg if you use panniers and the top base. The rack with side bars combo is strong and stand s up to a bit of abuse and so far has survived my off road rides on fs...

    48v 15ah battery only charging to 53.2v

I think the shark case will be 5 cells in parallel so 75a draw with up to 100a for spikes of high current. Ideally you should consider fitting a pas sensor and magnet ring to give the battery a bit of an easier time instead of full throttle every where.

    Disappointed with a Pendleton e-bike

How much do you want to spend as the Pendleton is really just a pootling a round town errand bike and no more. Primarily it is a functional bike for lighter female riders.
