    is this kit ok ?

Chinese cells don't stand up as well against abuse, drawing more power than they are designed for, but if you respect the 1.5C rule, they last just as well as branded cells. 4 year service life is common.

    Fascism returns to Spain

question for you: should the UK recognize Caltalonia's UDI next week? I don't think we should because of the low turnout but what do you think?

    Fascism returns to Spain

the local government only has to say that the referendum is not binding. The result will form the basis for further negotiation. There is no need for Madrid to jump the gun and refer them to the constitutional court. Madrid knew that the result of the referendum will consolidate the independent...

NEC Cycle Show 2017: Wisper e-MTBs, Swytch & other highlights

sorry, I have to disagree with you, SW. A lot of bikes are fitted with motors whose noload speed is less than 16mph. They are totally legal. For the rest, derestricting the bikes is the illegal act. The person who does this knows the issue. You seem to say that because the manufacturers can't...

NEC Cycle Show 2017: Wisper e-MTBs, Swytch & other highlights

sorry, I have to disagree. Nobody tries to stop you riding your e-bike at over 15.5mph, as long as you do so without the assistance of the motor. This point is fundamental in the concession that we all enjoy: not having to insure the bike and sharing the same privileged paths with pedestrians...

kit for loaded touring in the mountains/hills?

I question the wisdom of climbing a mountain using a torque system. If you are sure you can supply at least 30% of the energy required then ok, otherwise, prepare for a hard slog. A crank drive needs to be kept at reasonably high RPM (60-100 rpm) to avoid overheating the motor. A torque system...

    Fascism returns to Spain

it is not so black and white. the local government has tried to negotiate ever since their declaration of the Initiation of the Process of Independence of Catalonia in 2015. their demand fell on deaf ears, so their next step is to organize a referendum. The Madrid government cannot use the...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

the question has always been 'can you trust labour on the economy?' The problem is that JC and John McDonnell have already promised too much to make their economic plan credible.

    throttle and PAS connection

test for continuity between the two connectors 1 and 2. Red to red (4.5V), yellow to yellow (ground). Then you know for certain that the green (2) is the signal. I think you have already confirmed that. The problem you may encounter is the colours of the wires from the PAS sensor do not match...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

there is no real rush from the EU to give us an FTA before we leave. Why should they? No FTA means no encouragement to leave. However, if Liam Fox does his job well, then the EU will change their stance.

48V 10AH LITHIUM BATTERY FOR SMALL OFF ROAD BIKE

in general, you need to make sure that the battery can provide more than enough current to the controller, the reason being the battery's internal resistance rises quickly with the amperage and that generates a lot of heat, killing the cells. The choice of motor is thus important. For an...

    throttle and PAS connection

You confirmed correctly that 1 (Yellow, Green and Red) is the throttle. The PAS signal needs to be pulsed at least a few times in a second to start the motor. Check with a multitester that yellow and red on 1 are connected to yellow and red on 2, therefore leaving green (2) as the PAS signal.

    Fascism returns to Spain

the right to vote is one of those fundamental human rights. if the majority wants a referendum then the Court should not stop it in the first place. The local government tried for 7 years to get their referendum, Madrid says no because they know the result.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

we are talking about Dover, one of about 5 major ports in the UK. Before 1993, it wasn't gridlocked, why should it be now? The only reason for the M20 to have operation stack was because of the French industrial action at Calais.

    Fascism returns to Spain

I think they have to. The referendum will inevitably lead to Catalonia leaving Spain. There is no practical solution besides handing over more power to the regional government. Catalonia is viable as a separate country.

there are similar border crossings between Norway and Sweden. There, the problem is contraband of drinks and fags. Each lorry goes thrrough an x-ray machine and the customs officers will decide which ones to pull in for further checks. The operation at Dover will of course change after the...

    Fascism returns to Spain

Sadiq Khan would not want to call a referendum for London, for many reasons, the least reason is that London cannot exist as a country like Singapore. Its ethnic and cultural composition is not sufficiently distinguishable from the rest of the UK to power the push for UDI. Its economic power...
