EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

innovation can only come about if we do a lot more than PDI the bikes made in China. that's why a modest anti dumping duty would restore a small advantage for local producers. I have been thinking of assembling e-bikes here in Southend for years but the extra cost (about £75 per bike) does not...

£18,000 per annum is less than £10/h. Where you are, the housing cost is even higher than Southend. I reckon you'd need to pay £19k-£20k minimum to have any chance of retaining a good guy, otherwise, he'll walk within months.

    Traction problem with Big Bear

the motor's 3 phases have to be sync'ed to the position of their magnets. If you have two motors, there is no simple way to lock the position of the magnets on the front motor to the rear motor. That's why you have to use a specialized controller that has two motor cables...

that guide does not reflect the living cost in the South East. For example, our cost is not far off £12.50 an hour for our 21 year old warehouse assistant. (£10 / hour basic pay + 9% holiday allowance + 12% national insurance contribution)

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Switzerland is land-locked by Schengen countries, also, there was de facto a common travel area between Switzerland and France, Italy, Germany before Schengen, a lot of border posts weren't manned. I don't expect ROI joining Schengen. The main benefit of the Swiss model is that it does not walk...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

it looks like we are going for the Swiss model. From 1/1/2021, the date when we effectively leave the economic EU, we'll be out of the SM and CU but start copy and paste a lot of EU directives into our laws.

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

the Commission can impose provisional anti dumping duty on a category of products such as Chinese stainless steels (up to 28.5%, depending on the specifics) to protect EU jobs and consumers interest. In the case of EBMA against Chinese e-bikes, as it's is not likely in the EU consumers'...

in this context, it means EU directives/laws. regulatory convergence = importing EU laws. regulatory divergence = do the opposite (they go high on taxes, we go low).

he had to resign to call their bluff, then got quickly re-elected. TM wouldn't dare to face them down unless Corbyn publicly backs her on brexit which is not going to happen. She's bound by her promises to them. The best she could hope for is the electorate comes to prefer soft brexit by a clear...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

the hard brexiters are still calling the shots. It's not as if there are not enough tory MPs wanting the top job, promising to getting out of the SM and CU. TM can only be PM as long as they still believe that she will deliver on her promises to them. There is no guarantee that labour will gain...

his boss is held hostage by the hard brexiters, if they ever get a whiff of his department working on costing out the cost of hard brexit, they'll string his boss PDQ. When you see one of the hard brexiters on TV professing they stand right behind his boss, they do mean it. With their dagger ready.

He seems to me a straight talking tory MP if such kind exists. His boss is taken hostage by the hard brexiters in their party, she is stuck with what she promised them last year: out of the SM and CU. Now she will need the Daily Mail and the Sun to come to her rescue: we can pay £50 billions but...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

it may be unintentional but it is correct. We are seeking a much closer relationship with the EU after the transition period outside the single market and customs union compared to Canada, that can only be acceptable to the EU if we guarantee that we won't race to the bottom and we will maintain...
