    Brexit, for once some facts.

I don't think we would be obliged to join Schengen because we don't have land border with EU states except the ROI which is a special case.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I did get EEA and EFTA memberships mixed up. However, FYI, Norway, Switzerland, Liechenstein and Iceland have said a few months back that the UK can rejoin EFTA if we so wish.

we are one of the founding members of EFTA. All EU states are also members of EFTA. We have to serve notice to leave and TM is very careful, not yet revealing her position.

if you were a brexiter, you would easily understand this. We won, you lost. Deal it it?

TBH, I think remainers are still the minority.

there is no obvious objection from the EU if we wish to retain membership of EEA or EFTA. It's a rubber stamp job because they can't stop us.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I know people who live in the EU without a job are covered by our health budget and it is our current position that they should be able to remain there. The European health system is wider than the EU, covering the EEA and EFTA countries. If we opt to remain as EFTA member, there won't be any...

then there would be GE because the majority of parliament is already on the side of no deal = worst outcome.

not if the UK chooses to remain in EFTA.

If they can come and live here, their hospital bills are picked up by their respective government, like ours do if we retire in an EU state. Agreed - as in current position papers. Those positions are generally agreed with parliament.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

there is nothing wrong to state the objectives in order to establish consensus among the UK voters and set out the parameters for negotiation. How much of it will be achieved in subsequent negotiation is less important than us agreeing with each others. What remainers should worry about is the...

you see a police state. You should see NI/ROI as a mini Schengen area. The vast majority of people are law abiding, have nothing to hide. A few EU citizens may want to come to the UK to work, they will just come as tourists and stay, no visa needed.

it's not illogical. Checks are made of course at airports. You do spot check in towns like you do with routine police work. People do not just 'vanish' when they are in NI or ROI. They need a place to live and work.

it's suicidal for both conservative and labour to upset those who voted for brexit, so there is no chance of reversal.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

when there are nearly as many voters on one side as on the other, any lasting solution must be a compromise, to minimize the number of losers. If you look at the agreed policies, they comprise: visa free travel, continued arrangement for pensioners to retire to Southern Europe, maintaining...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

you get to keep almost all the current advantages as an EFTA member. You don't have the ECJ, the arbitration regime under EFTA Court covers only economic disputes. You can pick and choose to some extent EU laws. A gradual brexit. And let's spell it out, you don't need MEPs to represent us...
