I can see that eventually Li-ion batteries for vehicles will be banned. It's OK to take the risk with a few cells in power tools & the like but putting thousands of potential little bombs in a car is an unacceptable risk.

Using hydrogen to power ICE vehicles seems unlikely given the relatively poor energy density of compressed hydrogen. The fuel tank would need to be much stronger & 3x the size. On the other hand using hydrogen to make synthetic fuel with CO2 from the atmosphere might have been an alternative...
