If you want to know who was sucked in then just look in the mirror. I don't give a toss about Hunter Biden or his laptop but then I don't harbour bizarre conspiracy theories like you.

TONIGHT 9pm: - E-Bikes: The Battle for Our Streets - Panorama

All extant EU regulations were incorporated into UK law with the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (first proposed as the Great Repeal Bill). As Parliament is sovereign the UK is able to replace any or all of what were originally EU regulations with UK rules. I don't know why you would say...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

I can see that eventually Li-ion batteries for vehicles will be banned. It's OK to take the risk with a few cells in power tools & the like but putting thousands of potential little bombs in a car is an unacceptable risk.

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Using hydrogen to power ICE vehicles seems unlikely given the relatively poor energy density of compressed hydrogen. The fuel tank would need to be much stronger & 3x the size. On the other hand using hydrogen to make synthetic fuel with CO2 from the atmosphere might have been an alternative...

    Cycling. Health. Covid. Diet.

We as a society are also far more sedentary than we were 50-60 years ago. We used to walk & cycle but now we use the car.

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

ICE vehicles do not need to visit a petrol station to refuel. A jerry can allows mobile refuelling by the driver no matter how remote the location.

The ONS data I linked to refers to household expenditure on goods & services whereas your graphs refer to house income. The £280 per year “hike” as a percentage of median household income of about £35,000 per year is just 0.008%.

The average household budget is £567.70 per week or £29,520 so a £280 "hike to household bills" represents an increase of just 0.0095%. https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/personalandhouseholdfinances/expenditure/bulletins/familyspendingintheuk/april2022tomarch2023

OK, it's not a bike, but it is electric... Bubble cars are back!

The Dacia Spring at just £13,000 is the cheapest EV available by a long way. https://quotes.carwow.co.uk/deals/gva/789a0d03338a1e8c0a28da97cc26bd05

I agree. There are at least three posters on this thread supporting Trump & spouting seriously delusional conspiracy theories.

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

My intention when purchasing the Range Rover thirteen years & 110K miles ago was to have a supremely comfortable car with nice performance, great load carrying & superb towing capabilities. The safety features like air bags were a secondary consideration. Keeping a vehicle rather than replacing...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

I disagree but in any case every modern car is also safer for other road users than a Morris Minor given their pathetic drum brakes & narrow tyres leading to far longer braking distance.

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

I was merely pointing out that it’s not just modern cars that are heavier than a Morris Minor but even a car made 23 years ago is much heavier. I have never been involved in an accident with the Range Rover other than the fallow deer that shot out into my path a few months ago. There are no bull...
