New green inititive to get people out of cars and onto bikes / public transport.

Coventry is also one of the scooter trial areas, so I suppose a £3000 credit against buses / trains / taxis etc could well include scooter hire.

It's stuff like this that generally makes these threads take a turn for the worse. I always try to give the poster the benefit of the doubt and assume they're trolling.

My mistake. ''...cyclists who wear black and make themselves difficult to see should perhaps have a rethink...'

Telling people what to wear is never going to end well. Whether it's helmets or hi-viz. I've read umpteen threads on cycling and motorcycle forums, yet to see one that didn't 'go wrong'.

    electric scooter/skateboard laws

I'm not up on the intricacies of the French regs but if you stick 'permis citroen ami' into google you get a ton of links in French (including from citroen) saying you don't need one. The ami is being marketed as a safer alternative to a moped for 14 year olds. edit: I'd quite like one. It...

All your specific criticisms - every single one - were aimed at Bosch. That's like me saying motorcycles are crap because Ducatis are expensive.

Alternatively take the old tube out and fold / zip-tie to the frame - it can then be fixed at home and put back without removing the wheel.
