my action cam is long dead and that was my old performance motor but got a new dongle in the post so can get past 40mph but that takes 120rpm and 300w from my legs :p

do you want a dongle to remove the speed limit cos you will look a bit of a tard going 15mph on a drop bar bike. also take a close look at the front chain rings as most bikes these days mean you cant go much bigger at the front. i have a 52t on mine :eek:

I thought the dongle allowed you to use any battery. Could you use a standard battery rather than get a re-cell?

...this is contrary to European competition law. Solution: get the battery recelled by a reputable person (mine cost £300) & purchase a 'dongle' card from Albert van Dalen on Tindie using 'https://www.tindie.com/search/?q=Yamaha+dongle'.Mine was €79 but I think there's been a recent price rise...

if you buy one of those bikes with a dongle it can never be updated any update could brick the dongle even a firmware update to the display. also the batts cost a fortune and can bus locked the new smart batts cant be recelled yet and out of warranty peter is ur only hope...

I'm not looking for extreme speed, somewhere around 20mph has been my speed on my now stolen rear hub whoosh conversion which I've found quite adequate for my work commute.

problem with these newer bikes is yes you can dongle them but to get them going 30mph will need a much bigger front chain ring and as you will find most wont let you fit 2-3t more if that or you have to push out the chain ring with spacers that can kill the chain line. a normal size chain ring...

think im going to retire my dongle and get one with no speed limit as hitting it all the time now not to bad on the flat but down hill is a bit um as it cuts in and out around 36-37mph and my front brake is sticking :oops:

you cant make a 36v controller in to a 72v one that a suron uses with any dongle.

i have had my bike on the diagnostic software and it did not detect my bad ass dongle and peter at ebike motor centre has never had a motor broken buy a dongle. all they do is remove the speed limit the controller and batts amps are the same and if you try shunt mod the bms much more past 1a...
