    Value of used, converted bikes

I’m considering selling my e-bike, not really sure of what is a sensible and fair price? It’s a Cannondale mtb conversion (ok, it’s a mtb lookalike, not a proper mountain bike but good for towpaths etc) with a Woosh 48v TSDZ2 kit with Woosh bag battery (in a waterpbox, and only then in a trunk...

    Long time no see.

Just thought I would pop by and see what’s going on here. Hope everyone is well? Not been using my e-bike at all so may offload it. I do have a new to me bike It’s a Bird AM160 with a mullet conversion. Been enjoying trying to learn to mountain bike. Difficult for an old dog to learn new...

Lightweight ebikes that can still do steep hills and ride like a regular bike on the flat

I tend to see a flaming coming but here goes... I tend to use 2 bikes, an old but quite light analogue hybrid and a TSDZ2 tank like bike. Both work fine, the hybrid is nicer to ride and on gently undulating terrain is much more fun for me - and generally much faster on average than the tank as...

The crapcycle is dead, long live the crapcycle

I've disassembled my faithful crapcycle and stolen parts for crapcycle mk II. I was going to do a rear hub conversion but would need a hefty, high torque motor and decided to just use my existing tsdz2 mid-drive to save some pennies. Still needs a bit of work but went for a test cycle...

    Mudguard help - suspension forks

With the bazillions of different mudguard options, I’m struggling to understand why I can’t find something suitable. The bike has 650b wheels and currently 2.3 inch tires (although these might get swapped for something skinnier). Suntour suspension forks with no eyelets for mudguards. Eyelets...

Advice on supplier for hub kit

I have decided to go over to the dark side for my next conversion and go with a hub. It is against all my core values and I feel dirty, but I'm going to do it anyway. The donor bike is a 2017 Cannondale trail 5. It's an entry level mtb style with front suspension. Forks and 27.5" wheels...

Just agreed to by a second hand bike

Trek FX 7.5, quite old but expensive aftermarket wheels etc, not that much abuse. Ding on top tube but nothing serious. Too good to convert really. Paying £130 which I think is a good deal! No disc Brakes which is a bummer. I'll either keep it or my son will take it.

    How close

Having fixed my bike yesterday I was cycling up a steep single track road - 16%, and was making steady progress. Someone I sort of know (suspect they didn't recognise me) decided it was appropriate to barge past in their pickup, passing not more than 12 inches away. Sure, they were not going...

    Wisper 806

Hi, after an extensive thread of musings, I am leaning towards a Wisper 806. Want to get people’s experience…so more focussed thread. I’ll be keeping my crappy old mountain bike with a TSDZ2 for longer rides and when I want some exercise. I like the TSDZ2 ride but not the reliability. The 806...

    TSDZ2 Clutch Failure

Ridding home from pub last night up a big hill and lots of horrible noise. Was using more assist than usual as it was late and I wanted to get to bed and didn’t want to stop to remove a few layers before the hill. Failure happened near the top of the hill so it was easy enough to pedal home...

    Woosh Camino

Have been offered a Woosh Camino. Unfortunately too far away to try. I see it is 36v 16A rear hub with a notional 45nm torque. In real world terms will that get an 80kg rider + 20kg cargo up a long steep hill with 16+ % gradient in places with moderate rider input? Ideally not at a snails pace...

    Folder recommendations

I’m after a budget folder. Must be able to cope with at least 14% gradient hills and must have disc brakes (certainly at the front). Would prefer torque sensor. Quite happy to put a fair amount of effort in myself. It’s for transport and I’m a busy person so want to get from a to b with...

    Protecting your ebike investment

I'm sure this has been discussed many times before but I'm not above repeating the same old discussions. Ebikes are generally not cheap, and if they are cheap then generally there is a good reason. All bikes are easy to steal and getting your bike back is very hard. The police are not...

    Donor bike...

I actually went out for a 10 mile easy ride tonight, despite my knackered ankle, and was out for about 5 hours, recognised a friend in pub garden and it went downhill from there. But cycling related stuff, as my ankle is injured I set bike on 'speed' setting and pedalled really slow. It...

    Tsdz2 Q-Factor and ankle pain

I think the q factor and particularly the chainring side offset peddle is causing me ankle pain. In fairness I badly sprained my right ankle with an avulsion fracture 9 months ago and my ankle hasn't been right since. However, after a longish ride my ankle starts clicking and becomes quite...

    Hills near me...

Found a fun little website when researching gradients and hills near me. I'm on a TSDZ2 mid drive with stock firmware, stock 42t chainring, 11t to 28t cassette and 26" wheels. I live in a hill and to go almost anywhere worth going (well, not quite true, my local is excluded) involves going down...

Google maps alternative for multi-hop routes

No idea what thread this should be in so here goes. Struggling with Google maps on my phone. At the moment it is in bag shouting instructions rather than on handlebars as stupid big display and lights are taking all the real estate. I am trying to explore my surroundings and country roads I am...

    Tsdz2 under reading speed

Is it just me or does the tsdz2 massively under read speed? Might just be poorly adjusted speed sensor but I don't think so. I've been suspicious and meaning to check but held off as was fitting a new rear tyre. The tyre is 26 X 1.75. I believe that is a 25.75 inch diameter overall so the...

Oh no, 190 miles in and TSDZ2 strange noise

Went out for a 25 mile ride and stopped off at a friend's house and did a gym session and 5 km on the rowing machine and by the time I left it was getting dark and windy. Powered up the big long hill in turbo with no real issues, was making reasonable progress between 12 and 15 mph. This was...

3rd party insurance - Cycling UK

Hi, As I am now riding more I think I should get 3rd party insurance. I was looking at joining Cycling UK who provide 3rd party insurance with membership. I believe my kit based ebike does not disqualify me from the cover. Anybody got any other suggestions or is anybody aware that the Cycling...
