    My first commute...

Great thank you - I've been on my bike to work a few times now and it's getting quicker and easier. Refined my route now and it's taking 1hr 15mins (was 1hr 30 to begin with) and I think in a few months I can get this down to 1hr. Saying that I won't be cycling for a few weeks now as I only...

    My first commute...

I was under the impression it's good to run it down flat the 1st time to condition it? Then after that to top to up each time? My backside is fine today, very comfy saddle, but defiantly will look into that seat post!!! I'm defiantly a comfort type of girl. :D thank you

Thank you all for the advice, I mentioned what you've all told me in the class (we didn't work on our own bikes) but I got him to show me how to do the things you've all kindly mentioned. Re: the range, I've checked and the range states 24miles, well I reckon I did about 20 miles so not too...

    My first commute...

So yesterday I completed my first commute by bicycle. It was 29 miles in total and today I'm feeling every single one of those miles. The day before my Dad recommended running my battery flat to give it a better life. I cycled to work okay, it took me an hour and half but that included getting...

    Bike Locks....

I eat lots of cake at work, I work in a big office so there is a continuous stream of birthdays, pregnancies, weddings, any other celebration - resulting in cake pretty much everyday. Yesterday for instance there was 4 different cakes on the go throughout the day. And then there's the daily...

    Bike Locks....

Well it's 12 miles each way, I know I can easily do the 12 there and after a hours sitting around at work I reckon I will be able to do it back. I know it's going to be hard (especially first few times) but I want to just go for it.

    Bike Locks....

Interesting reading.... Mine does look slightly different to this - wonder if I have a slightly updates one? I choose this to go with my chain and d lock, as I did read it's best to have different construction locks meaning more tools to break them.

    Bike Locks....

So just received my delivery of accessories: pump, gloves, puncture repair kit etc but my biggest purchase of 3 gold sold secure locks. Maybe I've gone over the top, especially as I have just this week got a pass for secure indoor cycle parking at work but I didn't want to spend my work days...

    Bike Mirrors

I will re-look at all the end bar ones - was just under the impression these didn't work well on swept handlebars as my arms block the view.

    Bike Mirrors

Hey everyone, I'm interested in getting a pair of bike handlebar mirrors for my orange beast, to help in traffic. Does anyone use mirrors and if so, how useful are they? I'm not having trouble signalling but to turn fully round and stay in a non-wobble state is tricky for me at the mo. Kelly :)

    Received my new bike today!

I've just returned from a 10 mile bike ride. I cycled round a local reservoir and then headed back to the road and cycled what would be part of my journey to work - I could have gone further but didn't want to end up knackered on my first proper outing and then have to cycle all the way back...
