    First bike

I Picked up the ladies version of the crossfire e last week. It is fantastic. The battery is actually 11.6ah not 9 as the website says. I weigh considerably more than you and have now done about 20 miles on this charge. Lots of hills and the battery is showing 4/5 lights still on. I tend to...

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

To be honest, I assumed that was the case but the battey that came with the bike clearly says it is 11ah. Cycled 20km this morning with a headwind using Eco assist apart from hills and the battery is still showing full charge. Another thing I really like is the control monitor. It is big...

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

Ok, I am now the proud owner of a Carrera Crosfire E. Only played on it today but it is so much fun. Turns out although spec'd as 9ah, the battery is in fact 11ah, as it says on sutour web site. So now it is all sorted I can come clean with my story. I had researched e bikes and settled on...

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

Had a shot of one last night and really liked it. Gearing on flat, with no assist, was much better than anything I have tried.

The battery and motor are also suntour biuagain not much info on them. Neat bike though as you say Thanks everyone. It took me a while to find the detailed spec too, but I think the while hub/motor/controller system is Suntour.

Thank you very much for your help. I didn't realise it was new to the market, which explains why there is not much info on it.

Well I am overweight, but do cycle a bit and walk at least 6 miles a day with the dogs, so not a complete sloth :). The Suntour system seems to be well integrated

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

Thanks for your help. Probably doing about10 miles to start but hoping to join my husband on some of his shorter (30 mile) cycles eventually. I had been looking at the Roodog Chic, which has 10ah battery, but the battery is enormous. Their website says Last generation battery. When I asked...

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

Anyone got one of these? I can't find the weight of the bike anywhere or much about the Suntour system. Also reports on Halford's website are very positive but I thought the 36v 9ah battery might be a bit weak.

New here. Advice on up to £1K bike please. Folder or normal ok.

Thanks. Until I tried a few, I would have agreed with you, but the wheel size makes no difference so long as the frame can accommodate my height. The 26" Batribike was absolutely fine for me if I replaced the sprung saddle and felt more like my normal bike, which also has 26" wheels than the...

Dave, had another look at the Tempo, but also discovered the Safari!. Looks like all my boxes ticked, and a bit cheaper. Have a few questions though. Don't know much about the LifePo4 battery an notice somewhere that it only does up to 30 miles. Bike seems on the heavy side at nearly 30Kg...

Thoughts please. Roodog chic or Batribike diamond pro?

Benn looking at which bike to buy for a few weeks now. Thank you to everyone who has already provided help. Now down to 2 bikes. Tried the Batribike yesterday and liked it. Thought I would need to go for the 24" version but the normal one was fine. However I really don't like styling of the...

Dave, Good points. I never really thought about the length not being so longdue to the 24" wheels. I measured the distance between the ground and the top of my saddle today on my normal bike which is a Specialized Hardrock (25 years old and still going strong). It is 84 cm and I recon...

Did look at the Tempo. No throttle and battery behind seat post, were the things that put me off. Also and this sounds very picky, I don't like the bright green and white :). Sorry!

So, I think I have decided not to go for a folder. I though I liked the Freego wren but have decided I would prefer the battery to be above the wheel at the back. Just looks more like a normal bike. Ideally would have liked 15AH but think I can live with 10. Ideally disk brakes but have...

Do seem nice but adding disk breaks takes me over the 1K mark. Do I need them?

Advice re up to £1K bike please. Folder or Normal ok.

I would love to do that but I think the rules won't let me. Seemingly there are a few different government approved schemes and my work's one doesn't allow top up. Maybe with a small retailer something could be worked out but with Halfords, who I must buy through, that is unlikely. I would...

Advice re up to £1K bike please. Folder or Normal ok.

Thanks. I have tried a few in Edinburgh, but first chop was trying to sell me bikes around 2.5K Giant I think. Then tried a really nice Volt Metro in Corstorphine, but too expensive for the cycle to work scheme. It had loads of power though. Then tried A2B and F4W in a shop at Toll Cross...
