    Yose front motor problem

It started normally and runs well without any obvious problem, seems normal apart from the sound. I think I will give it a good run and see if it wears off before attempting any dismantling.

    Yose front motor problem

Thanks for that. No disk brake and the noise persists when the wheel is in the air. So it looks like I will have to investigate the motor. I something has come adrift it is a bit strange as it has not been used for so long. Tim

    Yose front motor problem

Hi, My yose front hub motor has developed a ticking sound when running. It only occurs when powered and does not seem to be dependant on motor power selected. It seems to occur 6 times per revolution. I have checked the spokes and some are slightly loose but I am a bit reluctant to play with...

    Battery repair Kit

I think all the cons you mention are true. The battery must be bigger due to the width of the end caps . I am intending to use it to repair a defective battery ( still in use at the moment for short trips). The only other advantage apart from not having to do any welding is that it is easy to...

    Battery repair Kit

Thanks for the feedback. After reading your comments and the blurb on the website about the improvements I think I will try a new one they do seem to have made significant improvements and perhaps addressed the downsides you mentioned. Guess the first step is to take the shrink rap off and see...

    Battery repair Kit

Hi, I have a battery with, I think, a bank of defective cells that I would like to repair. I am put off trying by having to weld the connecting strips to the the cells. Then I saw this saw this kit (system) for bolting cells together...

    Elephant bike conversion

Pretty low I re-loaded the standard stock firmware as a test and had the same result.

    Elephant bike conversion

Yes it works like the Bafang in cadence mode. I used it in hybrid mode and found it powerful enough but I tend to potter about so maybe not a good test. You have to peddle quite fast to get 15MPH out of it with standard gearing, faster than I found comfortable.

    Elephant bike conversion

Well I have two bikes with TSDZ2s fitted. I upgraded both to the open source firmware without any problem and this improved the performance slightly. The one on the elephant bike experienced a torque sensor failure. However the opensource firmware allowed me to keep using it in cadence mode...

Review Tong Sheng TSDZ2 Owner Survey

Hi, I did try reprogramming with the original software and it gave the sensor error. I find that trying to use the display for anything other than basic data is impossible so I re-flashed it with the software configured for cadence mode. I had not tried to calibrate the torque sensor so did not...

Review Tong Sheng TSDZ2 Owner Survey

I was running the OSF software. The motor simply refused to run and displayed an error message which related to "torque sensor error" I then changed the operating mode for the software to cadence mode which ignores the torque sensor and used it like this. It works fine in this mode and I can't...

Review Tong Sheng TSDZ2 Owner Survey

My own experience has been mixed. I have two motors both running the OSF software. On one the torque sensor has failed and I am running it in cadence mode. The other has been trouble free. I have had both a few years but relatively low millage. The performance in cadence and torque sensing modes...

Review Tong Sheng TSDZ2 Owner Survey

There is firmware that is supposed to work with the new controller but it is unfinished and experimental. https://github.com/OpenSourceEBike/TSDZ2_motor_controller_v2 Looking at the dates on the project there does not seem to have been much activity for a while so it may well be dormant. I read...

    Help! Vlcd5 contoller replacement

You could do that although I would check the pinouts with another source before starting. Alternatively you could buy terminated plugs from here https://www.e-bike-technologies.de/index.php/en/ and splice these leads together. It is more expensive but non destructive and would not violate...

    Help! Vlcd5 contoller replacement

There are two versions of the tsdz2 : With throttle and 8 pin connector, without throttle and 6 pin connector. I am pretty sure the VCLD6 is only available for he non throttle 6 pin version. if your prepared to make up your own adapter cable pinouts are available on the net here is one source...

Info required: Chinese TFI battery (ex Swytch Mk 1)

I don't think it is a problem with the charger the O.C. voltage is 42.6 and it charges my other battery OK. It probably does have a duff cell group. I might unwrap the shrink-wrap coating and have a look. I am reluctant because I would not be able to replace the cells myself and it does work...

Info required: Chinese TFI battery (ex Swytch Mk 1)

Interesting. This is pretty much the problem I have had with a Swytch battery. It only charges to 37.6V and the charger switches off. The battery has very little capacity. The voltage is 37.6 when connected to the charger and the charger is showing a green light. I assume there must be some...
