    Help! Yosepower?

Thanks for all this help. Fantastic. The bike has a14 speed Rohloff rear hub and an eccentric bb which precludes the use of wither a mid drive or a rear motor. So looking for a front hub motor that gives as much grunt as poss on steep hills. My existing Sparticle/ Yosepower kit on my Rohloff...

    Help! Yosepower?

Thanks for this. I googled Topbikekitand got a U. S. site e and one on AliExpress. I assume the latter one is the correct site? If I go for the AKM which is the better legal 26ins front hub and which KT controller and LCD would you suggest, if you don’t mind me picking your brain. Also do I...

    Help! Yosepower?

Thanks. Realise I posted in the wrong forum section by mistake. Anyway, that’s what I thought too and your reply is v helpful I’m quite happy to buy from the Chinese though don’t want to be landed with import duties. However if it is a Yosepower I can’t seem to find a site to buy it from -...

    Help! Yosepower?

Help with another conversion please? I recently bought a lovely used Rohloff touring bike which has also been converted to a front hub motor. It is a lovely combination and I would like to replicate the kit on my wife’s tourer. The kit was fitted by Electric Bike Sales Cambridge and from their...

Help! Wiring light to Yosepower controller

Afternoon. Recently bought another(!) e bike. This time a Thorn Rohloff tourer with a Yosepower 250w front hub kit. Down tube bottle battery and spare on custom cradle on rack. V nice outfit. But has no lights. Light setting on Y01 display but no cable from controller. I have a spare Busch...

Help! BBS01 and Alfine 8 problems

Thanks for this. I’ve already tried my LBS and they say it’s ahidtinh ok without the motor but it is usual for them not to shift under any sort of load. Their view is that it doesn’t work with load from mid motor. But I know there are people on this forum like you who have been v happy with...

Help! BBS01 and Alfine 8 problems

I recently converted my Wisper 906 XC from a Dapu front hub to a bbs01 ( wanting to stay legal) . It has an Alfine 8 hub. Much nicer. 2 related problems however.1. The Alfine doesn’t want to change down to the low gears. So on a hill when I change down it stays in a higher gear. Easing of on the...

    Hub gears for Raleigh Moyus

Yes, try a bigger sprocket on the rear wheel. They are about £10 and lots of “how to” clips on YouTube. I live in Exmoor with lots of 20% hills! I changed the front hub to a mid motor bbs01. A 46t chain ring and 20t sprocket an an Alfine 8 just about gets me up them.!

    Help! Dc/Dc converter

Oh dear! What a maelstrom I unleashed by a simple question about lights. I’ll stick to AAA lights in the future!

    Help! Dc/Dc converter

Thanks for these ideas. I had assumed everything would be 6v. I’ve now done some googling and will go for a front light that will run off 36v and which has an output for the 6v rear light I already have. There are some good ones out there that have permanent led running bulbs with the main...

    Help! Dc/Dc converter

Thanks for all the advice on what to do with my Wisper 906xc. In the end I have fitted a bbs01- Tony at Woosh does provide fantastic customer service. The dapu motor etc is in the Classified section now. My question now is about lighting. The bbs01 doesn’t have a socket to provide 6v lighting...

For Sale Dapu hun motor etc.

Due to a cottage in v hilly area I have just removed the Dapu front motor and wheel and replaced the system with a bbs01 on my Wisper 906xc. Tempted by the more powerful ones but decided to stay legal! So I have available the 26”” Alex disc wheel with hub motor, Dapu controller and Dapu lcd...

    Help! Ideas please

Thanks for this. I’ve not used that site before so am I right in ordering the kit with LCD3 which comes to £70 odd plus shipping? What is the advantage of the more expensive LCD over the LED 890? Am I right in assuming that the voltage can be lowered if necessary to say 17AH with either of...

    Help! Ideas please

Thanks BFR 400. That sounds as if that might be the way to go. Treat me as an idiot in these matters so why a 17 A KT controller rather than the 20A wheeliepete suggested? Also which of the LCD in your link do you suggest? For £60 or so the new controller/ lcd is a lot cheaper than a bbs01 plus...

Thanks for this. Which particular controller and display- as there are several in your link? Also what motor do you have- a Bafang rear ? Mine is a Dapu front hub and is so noisy that it is an embarrassment to ride!! I wondered about changing it for a Bafang front hub. Is there a link for one...
