Do titanium handlebars absorb much shock?

I take it that Andy bike is still relatively young from his rather unnecessary comment. I trust his opinion is based on actually trying a shock stop stem and not just conjecture? I started to get wrist problems in my 30s, now another 40 + years on I can unequivocally state from first hand...

Do titanium handlebars absorb much shock?

Oh dear a weight weeny, get real it’s an electric bike forum. What price do you put on wrist joint problems in later life. I paid considerably less than your quoted price and if you checked the actual weight it is 294g for the 110mm with two elastomers. Are titanium handlebars much cheaper in...

Do titanium handlebars absorb much shock?

Just get a Redshift Shockstop it does what it says on the tin. Takes the road buzz out and softens potholes. Although it’s not suspension as such. I have been using one for some time and it certainly saves my wrists.

Boardman Pro team hybrid for Bafang bbs01b conversion

Well done Steve, that’s a big battery I’m sure you will get a good range with that. I sometimes wish I had gone for a bigger battery, it’s a trade off of course, weight to range. I’m not as strong as I was and I still have to lift the thing periodically! what cassette did you go for? nick

Boardman Pro team hybrid for Bafang bbs01b conversion

Kit price varies dependant on the spec you chose, the motor size, the battery size and the display, best to have a Google to research current prices. My brakes are now 200mm front 180mm rear both 2 piece rotors with Hope e4 calipers and Sram Guide levers, probably overkill for most but I live...

Boardman Pro team hybrid for Bafang bbs01b conversion

Steve I started with a 42 tooth bling ring and a biggest rear sprocket of 36t, this was fine on the big hills but I was spending a lot of time on the 11t when on the flat or going down. The 52 to 42 gives almost the same low ratio as above so I’m certainly not lugging the motor which never gets...

Boardman Pro team hybrid for Bafang bbs01b conversion

I converted my Boardman some years ago with BBS02 no problems at all with fitting, I’m now using a 52t bling ring up front and a wide ratio 11-46 to easily conquer the 20% hills round here in the black mountains, the big 52t ring enables a relaxed ride at higher speeds using more of the middle...

Just bought a bbs01 conversion kit gears and brakes combined help please !

I believe your bike has cable operated brakes. You will be ditching the front derailleur anyway when fitting the bbs. So remove that and the combined lever assembly and just use the left brake lever with sensor supplied with the kit. Assuming you are in the UK this will be the back brake...

After market bbsxx crank drive gear

Not strictly an aftermarket part but to my mind a useful safety addition to the handlebar controls. I have modified the wiring of a small motorcycle switch so the two switches are in series so either one will cut the circuit, the green is a momentary switch and the red a latching switch. There...

I hope I’m not too late. Check to see if you have some disposable fingers first please.

Lekkie Bling Ring alternative 42T for Bafang BBS01/2 - £31 del.

Just a cautionary note about changing from one chainring to another by hand especially if the power could kick in unexpectedly from the cadence sensor. I have one slightly shorter finger as the result of getting it chopped off when I was 4 years old whilst playing with my tricycle upside down...

Cycling in Bath like in Amsterdam :-)

When the time comes you could consider a “Tag Along” then sprog can pedal long too. Or a trailer. keeps your bike as you like it rather than a ponderous lump when you don’t need the extra space

    Lekkie Buzz barr or alternative

Here is a picture of the Shimano Steps crank arms mine here are grey. They are not things of beauty but at least look and feel a class above the Bafang arms. I think also available in black.

    Lekkie Buzz barr or alternative

Steve my Shimano cranks are marked 170 FC-6000. See the photos they are fairly straight but still give plenty of clearance to the frame. Sorry I can’t really remember how they compare to the original Bafang cranks which I never fitted having read that the bafang quality was very poor. But I...

    Lekkie Buzz barr or alternative

I’m using the Shimano steps cranks on a Boardman hybrid with BBS02. Inexpensive compared with what you are looking at.

Fitting a Hall sensor to aSram guide lever assembly

This was my solution to stealthily and securely fitting a Hall effect brake sensor attachment to Sram guide lever. This would be suitable for types R, RS, RE, DB5. Perhaps RSC. A similar arrangement may be applicable to other brands of levers. When I looked at the lever assembly there didn’t...
