I've no idea and hope some kind soul can help

Yes Eagle, you are right (as always!) I know I need to try some but I'm just trying to get as much theoretical research as possible in first! Knowledge is power and all that.. Mandy

Yes Scott I like the Verona/Milano but I don't think they are on that deal, I think it's the Liberty/Safari which, as you say, are quite heavy. Mandy

I've no idea and hope some kind soul can help

Hi, I'm happy to share if we can agree on a model, seems like a good way to get a well priced bike! And I certainly know from my exhaustive researching that Bafung motors are very good and that Kudos is a very reputable and respected company. I think we also have quite similar tastes and...

Thanks Eagle for your tireless efforts! I wouldn't rule out Freego personally but Woosh definitely seem like a great company. Mandy

Hi, Yes they are good deals aren't they? Just need to find someone to share with! Mandy

Funny you should say that, I think Kudos do something very similar... 2 for under a thousand pounds. Maybe we should start our own business to help confused ladies of a certain age to find a bike! I'd definitely employ Eagle as chief research tzar! Mandy

Hi, take a look at my last couple of threads, I think we are in similar situations! I've been wavering around between Woosh Crusa, Santana, Kudos Milano, Regency... and now Eagle has thrown Freego Wrens into the mix too. There's only so much research one menopausal brain can take so I'm going...

Hi Eagle, Many thanks, these all look great too and there are plenty of good places in Brighton for service/repairs etc. My only problem with ebay is the collection in person part, I would happily pay for a courier but they all seem to say that's not an option! Mandy

Hi Scott, thanks, that also throws wheel size into the mix! The Wisper is ex demo so sub £1000. Garf from ebikes direct said maybe the lighter weight Wisper would trump the Freego Regency but there's not much difference between the weights of all the bikes I've been looking at really, maybe 2kg...

Hi, I feel like I've done so much researching and review reading now that my brain has turned into a big pile of electric mush! I think if someone said `look just shut up now and buy......... `I probably would! Mandy

Thanks Gaz, yes I'm going to Devon soon and intend to rent some bikes while I'm there to give them a good try out. Does battery also contribute to power then and not just cycling time? In which case the Regency looks pretty good value. Mandy

Hi from sunny Brighton again, Further to my previous post, I am thinking about the Woosh Santana 3, but 2 other slightly cheaper bikes have come into the frame so any opinions on these would be welcomed. They are the Wisper 705se ex demo, 10.4Ah battery for £989 and the Freego Regency Classic...

    Dazed and Confused, Brighton..

Thanks very much Gaz, that's a very kind offer and that was one of the bikes I liked but I think Hatti has sold me on the Santana 3 now. Just discovered there is a cycle to work scheme which has increased the budget a tad! A few test drives first and hopefully will go with Woosh. Mandy

    Dazed and Confused, Brighton..

I know I'm probably looking for the impossible, but just want the least effort on short hilly trips for the money! Nealh is right, I need to test drive some but it helps to know what to look out for and avoid as it's a very confusing market if you're new to it and it's a big chunk of money..

    Dazed and Confused, Brighton..

Thank you for all your advice, I've got lots to ponder. So given that battery size isn't a massive factor as I won't be doing really long distances, what makes the nippiest motor? They all seem pretty similar to me, although the Santana is a chain drive. Is that what I should be looking out for...

Yes I know where you mean, under the bridge and a sharp left turn up a hill. That is a really steep hill. Miller's road I think. I naturally avoid the hills if possible walking so I wouldn't be completely unrealistic in expecting to conquer Muesli Mountain where I live!
