Aldi have some decent bikes in that would make for good conversions

Can you fit a hub motor when the forks have no dropouts , I think the Barracuda has through axels.

    Drilling for oil ( Hydraulic)

Very true my forks don’t have a caliper mount but they are heavy steel forks of an old Ridgeback frame, so I should be able to weld on a mount.

    Drilling for oil ( Hydraulic)

Thanks for the reply, I will have to buy a disc and see if the holes line up . I have good rim brakes but I think the weight of the bike would benefit from hydraulic disc brakes, can’t see why it wouldn’t work either. Andy.

    Drilling for oil ( Hydraulic)

I have a 2009 Bafang 250w front hub motor, on the inside of the case are six blind holes that look like they could be used to fix a brake rotor, do you think this is what they are for ? they are on the side of the motor where the cable connects . Thanks Andy.

    Blown controller my fault

My bikes been fine never a problem, it's a Ridge back hybrid 27",fitted with a BF90 250w motor in the front wheel and has a 10amp controller But I could do with a bit more torque on steep hills so I did the controller shunt mod with a bit of solder maybe too much .It was great for about fifty...

    Lidl battery packs

Lidl use these 20v packs for pistol drills, circular saws angle grinders. I have the angle grinder and saw and they aren't bad. They seem to be decent 2000ah cells and 5 for 11 quid isn't bad. I can't see them selling crap batterys or theres going to be a lot of returns.

If it is every revolution when you are peddeling it could be a slack bottom bracket.

    Death notification

I never had one but three of my friends had, Andy had a blue one Steve had a red one and Peter had the 5 geared one, needed brazing from time to time and the front wheel used to shake like mad when you went downhill at speed but still an iconic bike. Happy days.

Are sellers taking over this forum?

(Are sellers taking over the forum) On a whole I would say no but one or two sellers plug items they have for sale a LOT more than others. Maybe there should be a limit on how many times they can plug there own items. If I were to start a thread on lets say wallpaper I know of one seller...

    SPIRIT CONVERSION/Threaded Allen screw head

Can you get some Mole grips on it and gentley wiggle it until it will unscrew. If you have a electrical soldering iron (big ish 50w or above) you could apply this to the screw until it is very hot then cool it down with penetrating oil, this might also help. Good luck.
