Help! Tsdz2: no assist, one battery bar only

Hey, apologies for bringing a dress thread back to life... I had the same issue as op... Took the display of today and noticed the purple wire in the pic has broken. Does anyone know what this wire does and had anyone got it arm a schematic of the display? Thanks

    Dead tsdz2?? Help

I haven't thought about the BMS... That's interesting. I have checked the voltage of the battery at the connectors though and it's a healthy 52v whilst the display is saying the battery is dead... When I say I've probably voided the warranty I mean I took a file and angle grinder to the motor...

    Dead tsdz2?? Help

Yes, I agree. However the motor has started to play up before the rain incident... Either way, I guess it's likely to be the controller!

    Dead tsdz2?? Help

I'm not sure if it is still under warranty. How long do they last? Actually it was you I bought the motor from but I didn't consider the warranty as I had to file the living daylights out of the motor casing to get it to fit (flanged bottom bracket) so assumed I would have voided the warranty...

    Dead tsdz2?? Help

Hi all, so having converted my mums bike using a tongshen tsdz2 (48v 250w). the motor has seemingly died! First there where a few instances where it just cut out. We turned it on and off and then it went again. Now it is turning on, showing zero charge in the battery (even though the battery is...

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

Actually my main issue is with the power regulation. I want more power to pull more cargo. A truck has more power than a car, can carry more stuff, can exceed the speed limit... but is trusted to remain in the limits. not everyone is obsessed with speed (witness the majority of car drivers). as...

Electric Tour! charging stops needed....can you help?

Hi All. I am going to attempt a journey from Portsmouth to Widecombe on the moor (Dartmoor) in December. Yes I know the weather is likely to be s**t :) I am looking for anyone along my route that might be able to offer me a stop to charge up. happy to pay or maybe make a donation to a charity...

    Dc-dc off grid chargers

Sweet, so for my 48v battery I need a constant 54.4v? I have been looking at mppt buck boost controllers. So rather than having more panels you have a controller that jumps up the voltage... As well as charge controlling. That said maybe I should just use a buck booster with current 12v set up??

    Dc-dc off grid chargers

Thanks! That's a start :) I some to my solar supplier about victron mppt controllers and he said it was important that the battery bms controlled the charging process... My understanding was that all the magic happened in the charger not the battery. Am I wrong? I have emailed en3ev to find...

    Dc-dc off grid chargers

Hi all, I am looking into of grid charging options and wondered if any one could offer a little advice.. I live off grid and use solar as my main energy source. So I am well aware of the inefficiencies of using inverters to charge low voltage DC appliances. With that in mind I have been...

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

Thanks flecc. That is a great breakdown of why cycling is so badly treated/perceived in the UK! I am obviously with you when you say the laws should be as liberal as possible and I think I see the links between the psychological perception of cycling and why it would be hard to change the laws...

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

Nice... Great for the urban I'm sure. How is it fully loaded up a long steep incline? My cycle back from town has an accent of 800ft over 9km, parts of which are extremely steep. my original 250w bafang didn't last very long commuting with panniers and trailer!

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

Thanks again flecc. Very interesting and also thanks for the time! As you say you've probably been going over this for years. I've read some of your other stuff describing current rules. It seems that on the whole we agree...I'd be interested in your 'ideal' version of the laws in an ideal (but...

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

Thanks flecc, very interesting! Questionable as to why the response was so low though and not a statistical proof that people agree the laws are fair or reasonable. Does it show how little interest people had or how apathetic the British can be about actually having power over decisions. It...

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

I am simply interested in opinions. Not making a case to the government. So deaf ears or not I don't really care. For me it is an interesting topic that bears some discusion. So do you think as things stand that the rules make sense or seem fair? If so why? And if not why? What would you keep...

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

And just to add..actually my main point is about the power issue. If I registered a cargo bike that was over the 250w limit for its ability to haul things not to go fast...I would have to wear a helmet, have insurance, have a number plate etc etc...in my opinion it's completely over the top...

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

I'm not wasting time :) I am simply pontificating about how in an ideal world the rules would make sense to me in my opinion and I'm interested in what others think. I disagree with you that what I'm saying is that I want permission to break the rules because my vehicle has a different name. I'm...

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

yes, agreed. But then is it not the same as for cars? N which case a staggered speed limit for different areas depending on risk madness sense. I have to drive at 60 on dual carriageways when I am doing delivery driving in my van. The van can do upward of 100 but I am trusted to obey the rules...
