    About the extra width when folded - Would it still fit in a Brompton bag? You may not have the heavy duty transport bag, but I find my machine is a tight squeeze in it (though not necessarily for the width of the front forks) - I have a long seat post.

    The big problem we found with cycleguard is that you are very constrained as to which locks you can use. Basically, we couldn't find acceptable locks. The ETA seem to have more sensible cycle-centric insurance, and the rescue service seems ideal for commuters, especially the puncture rescue...

    Key on Cadence Is your key as badly placed as mine is, so that it can be easily hit by the foot if you try to pedal with the toes? If you don't know what I mean, it's probably been improved (I also have big feet, which makes it worse).

    I can see that a shaft drive would be able to move the weight off the wheel, so it could go somewhere better. There was a report in a Velovision magazine about a (non-electric) bike with shaft drive, but I've never seen one out or in a shop. Is that warm?

    Buxton has train access and hills and all the facilities you could need, but the Pavillion facilities are heavily used - book early! There is a country park just south of Buxton which is more suitable for a venue, but I don't know how you'd book it.
