Can anyone identify model of my vintage Specialized ebike?

Gosh, what a fount of knowledge you are! Any idea about serial number location? Unless it was removed the same time the Specialized stickers were added! Once more thanks again. Chris

Can anyone identify model of my vintage Specialized ebike?

For insurance purposes my old Specialized ebike requires a model name; even though it's not valuable. Does anybody recognise it? I got it secondhand and with help from the forum have repaired and modernised. Converted to direct hub motor from old independent motor with thin drive chain to hub...

    Lost Vistas

..but talking to farmers now in local Breckland pubs, wind-breaks to prevent erosion is what they say. Go ask them yourself. True, we are all aware that Breckland soil is sandy and loose; but that is only a small proportion of the county/country.

    Lost Vistas

Just realised vfr400 it's you! Thanks again for your good technical guidance last year that resurrected my old ebike for the scrapheap. It's still going strong and enabling me to enjoy great countryside. Chris

    Lost Vistas

Multiply my “occasional cycle around the backroads…” by many thousands, or millions nationwide to get a true perspective of cyclists’ scenic enjoyment. Electric fences are commonly used to keep livestock confined If hedgerows haven’t existed besides stretches of roadside for ages, why only now...

    Lost Vistas

My closing sentence (above) does rather foolishly sound like I'm asking Pedelecs to act! I meant my anxieties aimed at environmental bodies and hoping forum members might share my concerns. (I've added this issue to the "Leisure" forum realising it's a more suitable listing). Chris

My closing sentence "So please can these fast disappearing vistas not be lost." Does rather foolishly sound like I'm asking Pedelecs to act! I meant my anxieties aimed at environmental bodies and hoping forum members might share my concerns. Chris

    Lost Vistas

(Originally posted on General Discussion forum before realising this "Leisure" forum more appropriate). One beneficial outcome of coronavirus restriction has been the growth in cycling. It’s so nice to see families out enjoying this healthy pursuit. So, armed with a scenic bike route leaflet I...

    Roundabout grumble about car drivers

You'll often see broken lamp lens lying on a round-about from a minor car prang. However, on a bike there is no such thing as a "minor prang"! Any contact is potentially lethal! Therefore, I always get off and cross as a pedestrian and I'm still here to tell the tale!

    Lost Vistas

One beneficial outcome of coronavirus restriction has been the growth in cycling. It’s so nice to see families out enjoying this healthy pursuit. So, armed with a scenic bike route leaflet I went to explore rural Norfolk (on my old resurrected electric bike thanks to Pedelecs technical forum...

Can I swap battery from my old bike into new bike (both are 36v lithium)?

Success. Bike back to working order. Routine for many; but first time in depth repair for me. Many thanks to forum and especially vfr400 for patiently steering me. Chris

Can I swap battery from my old bike into new bike (both are 36v lithium)?

Thanks. Will leave loop connections open. Controller is matched with my existing simple KT 880 display when sold as a kit. (Display correctly illuminates). Does it matter that all three phase wires will continuity buzz when any one source colour is tested?

Can I swap battery from my old bike into new bike (both are 36v lithium)?

Fluctuating 5v appearing now on all three sensors:). Applying slight throttle I was hoping for some rotation (motor as above photo not in hub/wheel). However, nothing. With power off all three phase wires read linked closed circuit when continuity tested. My bike is very basic with only...

Can I swap battery from my old bike into new bike (both are 36v lithium)?

Carefully fitted new Hall Sensor and prior to reassembling whole hub and wheel thought I'd best do a test. So reassembled as photo below, but on slowly turning the outer casing I got a constant 5v from all three hall sensors with no fluctuating off. (Two were correctly fluctuating before so...

Can I swap battery from my old bike into new bike (both are 36v lithium)?

Good traditional shop with staff prepared to open boxes to test and match! Taking my motor to Machine Mart helpful staff found that the 6" puller fits all the required extractions including clutch. Only £20. Gosh, what a difference using this tool makes. Stubborn components popped off so...

Can I swap battery from my old bike into new bike (both are 36v lithium)?

Hub motor generic puller size? I've decided that a puller tool would aid my work significantly, especially a very stubborn clutch/gears unit. Is there a general sized puller that will address all the hub motor/clutch gears extractions? Gear Pullers are listed in inch sizes, but what does that...
