I'm using the correct 'intelligent' branded lcd which looks identical to my old broken one.... 3 buttons, power, plus and minus.... maybe Its a battery problem then, but it's quite a new battery so I really hope not!!!

I've still not fixed this.... new display unit plugs in but nothing powers up. I've opened up the battery rack to look at the controller, see pic. Could this need replacing? Any way of testing/ diagnosing it?

Wow - I feel like such an idiot... Just went to check the connector and realised I was looking at the brake connector, not the controller connector! The controller connector is in fact green!! What. A. Plonker. Thanks for all your helps anyway, hopefully that fixes it!
