Mid Motor Under BB Clearance - Trek Navigator

Thank you Nealh and Pete. Now I understand how the motor must be fitted pointing down at approx 45deg. However I still cant be sure if the motor will fit and I am no further forward in finding a diagram with dimensions. Would be a lot to pay only to find it doesn't fit.

Mid Motor Under BB Clearance - Trek Navigator

Nealh, thanks for that but there are a couple of points about your reply that I am not sure I understand. You say the BBS wont be able to sit forward ?? the cable clip will need to be removed? But if the motor is hanging lower to clear the frame protrusion then wont it clear the cable guide? I...

Mid Motor Under BB Clearance - Trek Navigator

I bought a Swytch hub conversion kit but find it doesn't suit my cycling needs. It would be fine for a commuter but I tend to be off road (it does not allow me to cycle slowly around hazards) and on steep hills the motor loses power as I slow down - the opposite of what I need. So I am thinking...

    Gepida reptila 900

Sniper, I think you need to state what you have and what the problem is. Probably need about 3x as many words as your question?

    Purchase of replacement battery

The discharge cable plugs into the controller but surely you have to adapt it to match the socket of the controller?

How to Make the Bike Go Slower?

I have been in discussion with Swytch and now have the bible regarding how to control the power with a Swytch kit. I have posted their answer in the 'conversion kits' forum. It is surprisingly complicated. So please let this thread close.

    Swytch Power Logic

Dwvl, the text comes straight from Swytch. My understanding of cadence control is that the faster the crank is turning, the more power is applied.

    Swytch Power Logic

The available user support for the Swytch conversion kit lists the controls and their available settings but does not really explain the logic of the settings regarding delivered power. After an online conversation with Swytch it seems that the controls work as follows: The Settings menu lists...

How to Make the Bike Go Slower?

Overlander, thanks for that. My controller does indeed offer five power levels and as I switch between them I can feel a difference (its goes from 60% to 100% power - almost doubling). My question to you was does your kit offer cadence sensing and adjust the power to match. But I think I may...

How to Make the Bike Go Slower?

Overlander, that is encouraging. So you are experience cadence sensing? So you get more power the faster you pedal? So when I am exploring slowly, or on forest tracks or canal footpaths I tend to be in a low gear cos I want to go slowly. But the cadence sensor would interpret that as I am...

How to Make the Bike Go Slower?

Nealh, I think that would work. I could change the wheel size from the current 26" to 29" and that would drop the maximum speed from 15mph to 13mph - only a slight improvement though

How to Make the Bike Go Slower?

Nealh, It is a Swytch Eco and so has red neon bar display - no LCD. But you can set max values: Unfortunately, 15mph is the minimum you can set. It still whisks me up to 15mph even with the power limit at min of 60%

How to Make the Bike Go Slower?

i have just fitted a conversion kit to my bike. The problem is that once I start pedalling the bike whisks me up to 15mph; even when set to minimum power and me just rotating the pedals without any pressure. Great for zooming to the station to catch a train but I use my bike for exploring the...

The case for separate std interface items?

So BLDC is the way to go. I looked up BLCD in the online dictionary and it apparently means Black Lives Community Development. I will give it a go. Or maybe it means Brush-Less Crank Drive?

The case for separate std interface items?

from the OP: Must be my lucky day; I got very useful replies from four "Esteamed Pedelecers"! So trying to sum up what is being said: There are no standards for interoperability. With European and Japanese manufacturers you are very unlikely to find replacement parts on Ebay, Amazon, etc. You...
